Republican senator Pat Toomey has warned against nominating Donald Trump loyalists in upcoming primary elections, speaking in a wide-ranging interview ahead of Trump’s first post-presidency rally this weekend.
Toomey cautioned that following Trump’s lead could damage his party’s chances at the ballot box in next year’s midterm election, when control of both chambers of Congress and dozens of governors’ mansions will be up for grabs. He has represented Pennsylvania since 2010 but will not seek re-election next year.
“If [Trump] endorses candidates based on their loyalty to him, who are not strong candidates in their own right, then we could have an election in 2022 that goes worse than it should,” Toomey, a former derivatives trader and the most senior Republican on the powerful Senate banking committee, told the Financial Times. “Of course that will then reflect very badly on him, too, won’t it?”
Toomey’s warning came ahead of a rally Trump has planned on Saturday night across the Pennsylvania border in Ohio. The former president will headline an event in the small town of Wellington sponsored by his “Save America” political action committee.
Trump is campaigning there for Max Miller, one of his former advisers who launched a primary challenge against Republican congressman Anthony Gonzalez. Trump endorsed Miller, calling him a “true patriot”, while saying that Gonzalez “should not be representing the people of the 16th district because he does not represent their interest or their heart”.

In other words, REAL conservatives must be prevented from getting elected at all cost.
That was the past. But NOW, a with a Trump endorsement, candidates can actually win, despite the party establishment being against them.
This is what Toomey, et al are afraid of.
Toomey took out Arlen Specter, then immediately went moderate, either on his own or because that's what McConnell told him he should do, or both.
Trump saved his ass in 2016 by winning Pennsylvania.
But they have so internalized that moderation is the way to go that they can't see anything else.
Says the person who “negotiated” a compromise on gun control in 2012 with Democrats while aboard that cruise ship on the Potomac that is exclusively reserved for the Senate and Congress and is fully stocked with booze and food.
RINOS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN Democrats at heart.

Trump does not endorse candidates who are loyal to him. Trump endorses candidates who are loyal to THE PEOPLE.

Pat Toomey knows exactly how much fraud went on in PA and he is in on it. He KNOWS the election was rigged and he knows HOW it was RIGGED. His constituents are chewing his ass and he is hiding from them the people of PA are furious with this man because he betrayed them and as far as I am concerned he betrayed his country. The entire establishment knows how the election was rigged and they are scared. That is why there are still fences up at the capitol and you can’t get in to talk to your senators and representatives.

Toomey was a one time {many years ago} conservative {or at least he played one in public}.
I am very sorry to say that I worked for his first election, but the pickings for PA senators is usually very slim.
Toomey is your typical DC Uniparty (R) Judas. People are up in arms with every backstabbing statement and vote these swampers make. Conservatives might as well get upset and swear at the sun for coming up every morning. In the senate you’ve Cruz, Cotton, Hawley and most of the time Paul who are trustworthy. In the house you’re looking at less than 10% as well. As far as the permanent DC ruling class of federal apparatchiks, the ratio is zero. When the macguffin is uselessly trying to turn these hacks into conservatives nothing else gets accomplished. How many times do conservatives have to lose, betting on the Washington Generals, before they realize the game is rigged. The biggest mistake Trump ever made was staying in the Republican when he could have hit the ground running with a real second party after the 1/7 Republican coup.

Since when is Toomey a “Top Republican”?
I remember Toomey speaking on the radio with (WAEB) Bobby Gunther Walsh. This is when Toomey was a first term congressman.
The topic was about the fairness of paying 39% income tax. He was defending the congressional law enacted in 1913 and said it was perfectly legal to force people to pay as much as 99% of their wages.
I knew right then and there that this guy was a deep-state globalist. A real stinking pile of $hit. /spit.
