Yep....they’re so accustomed to being ‘rescued’ from their overspending that it’s just another day for them to seek a handout.
I recall a cnversation with a head of a Food Pantry.....that helps with rent.....He said when asking a gal what brught her t where she couldn’t pay her rent...she said ‘Christmas was very expensive this year”.

It will be for 13 months of back rent.
Your tenants have been living rent free for 13 months? And now you can add an extra month of them not paying. Wow.

My tenant paid but next one will be required to prove rent receipts from March 2020 until end of moratorium. No receipt . No renting.

The government has no right to change the terms of a valid contract.
They’re saying to landowners that they have to provide a free apartment to people who can trash it.
Plank 1 of commie manifesto: eliminate private property.

Many of these landlords are carrying a mortgage.
A mortgage they can’t pay without renters.
They made a poor investment and rented to people they knew nothing about.
So now the Treasury is bailing out their deadbeat asses.

They are struggling through the paper work. As a landlord I had to send proof of ownership, copy of lease, rent ledger, previous rent receipts and other paperwork. The renter has to do similar including last years tax 1040. Then they have to verify everything. My state of Alabama had 40,000 applications the first week of March.
