Joy Behar told her co-host Wednesday on ABC’s “The View” that President Donald Trump was somewhat responsible for the recent crime rate spikes across America because he spent “four years normalizing crime.”
Behar said, “Well, you know, I’m old enough to remember many decades where crime spiked. I was afraid to, you know, go out at night. You know, you were scared you were going to be mugged in New York City. And then I have another statistic here that’s interesting because from 1993 to 2019 — and that is a period that I was not scared to go out —crime steadily decreased in the United States. Every president since Clinton inherited basically a declining crime rate, and then it continued to decline until Trump came along.

I think what she is remembering is that Leftists (ANTIFA, BLM) spent 4 years creating a lot of crime because they hated Trump. The DOJ did nothing to stop them, because the DOJ hated Trump too.
Now she can look back at those 4 years and accuse Trump of normalizing crime, because she just hates Trump.

It had nothing to do with Clinton. 1993 was the year Giuliani was first elected major of NYC and started cleaning up the city. Look at the crime stats again, you twit, and see what happened to NYC crime stats after the Democrats got the mayor's office back. You might also check you crime stats data as they are completely wrong for US crime stats.

The right-wing sweep of the 80s caused the criminal cycle to finally break. The drop in crime was a trailing factor. Criminal behavior stopped being normalized and tolerated. Clinton just happened to come along and claim credit for it.
In my right-wing heavily Trump area, crime is still ridiculously low. Pro-rape shows like The View are to blame for the increase in rape.
