Farmers in the United States have reached a breaking point. They now say that what the government has done has been so disastrous that they are willing to stand off with the Feds.
Farmers in Oregon are protesting because they own the water in the Upper Klamath Lake, farmer Dan Nielsen told RT’s Ruptly video agency. He stood outside an American flag-colored tent that was set up next to the canal headgates, which control the flow of irrigation water from the lake. “It’s ours and the federal government actually just stole it. No due process of law, no compensation,” Nielsen said, adding that federal officials had violated the locals’ property rights guaranteed by the US Constitution.
Are people really just now figuring out that the government, doesn’t care about the Constitution…?

You heard it here, possibly from the same person you’re replying too. Lara Logan did a documentary in the valley and talked to Victor Davis Hanson who owns a farm there. He grows almonds and said they swapped to them due to lower water requirements compared to what they were growing before. I forget what they were growing before. avocado maybe
Here’s an article discussing it, https://www.paesta.psu.edu/podcast/how-much-water-does-it-really-take-grow-almonds-paesta-podcast-series-episode-43
It seems to have been politicized like everything these days.
Of course the bottom line is, they say that’s the most productive place on earth to grow food but when they say that, they usually fail to mention that it only became that way when they started bringing water in from somewhere else.
If you do wood fired BBQ then I’d recommend almond wood. It’s a light flavor and I get a hint of citrus out of it myself.
How many dams did CA tear down and divert the water to the sea? Many, IIRC.
I drove from LA to SF 4 years ago and was amazed to see all of the large signs on farmers properties begging for water. A local told me how the state regulates their water and that people hate the almond orchards because they use too much water. Water is also diverted from republican represented districts. Years ago someone said one of our fights would be over water and here we are today living out that prediction thanks to disgusting to the socialist.
And now they’re depleting the aquifer. Drilling deeper wells is a big business in the Central Valley.
They have meters on the wells and can only use so much. Most farmers this year are only using 30-40% of their land because that’s all they have water for. Still though, millions of gallons are being sent to the ocean for the delta smelt but most of the smelt are being eaten by bigger fish that are non native to Cali. That’s according to VDH and Nunes who also has a farm there.
Ping
They can drink their gold and silver.
Water is a huge deal in the western United States
For those on the East Coast they don’t understand- it doesn’t rain here six months out of the year
Thus during the summer season you need irrigation water are you not gonna have anything
The left has taken over Oregon Washington and California using ballot fraud for decades now
The left politicians you have never ever had a real job and I’ve only known how to grift preach socialism to the morons and play games don’t give a crap about farmers or their living
Why? Because they know that there are patriots and/or Republicans and that will never support or vote for them
Now the fact is that they’ve got the elections are rigged out here with ballot harvesting mail in ballots and all that kind of crap so you think they would not even care and we care more about growing crops
but that’s the left for you
Destroy destroy destroy destroy destroy that’s the left
Again and again.
My mouth is dry. Time for a beer.
Why not? They steal everything else.
Well, did a little search. Here’s some history for ya. An old news article written by... yours truly :-).

Had to drive through a brush fire on one trip; almost got arrested for entering a public meeting as a reporter (how dare me), and tricked the NYT into finally covering the story (they didn’t care until they thought it was a race issue).
Someone must really not like those people in Klamath.
LOL! You had to do some diggin’ for that.
