Facing Dry Year, CA State Water Board Is Draining California Reservoirs
California Globe ^ | 05/21/2021 | Katy Grimes

In the last 14 days, 90% of Delta inflow went to sea. It’s equal to a year’s supply of water for 1 million people. #ManMadeDrought,” Central Valley farmer Kristi Diener said.

Diener, a California water expert and farmer, has been warning steadily that water is unnecessarily being let out to sea as the state faces a normal dry year.

“Are we having a dry year? Yes,” Diener says. “That is normal for us. Should we be having water shortages in the start of our second dry year? No. Our reservoirs were designed to provide a steady five year supply for all users, and were filled to the top in June 2019.”

Don’t believe her?

“You’re looking at our largest reservoirs less than two years ago. They were absolutely teeming with water from 107% to 145% of average!” Diener says. “Our reservoirs held enough water for everyone who relies on them for their water supply, for 7 years. We are barely into our second dry year. WHERE DID IT GO…?”

Yup. The SOB’s drained the reservoirs so they could mollify their deranged enviro-nazi overlords in DC and create a crisis they could use in the next election cycle.

They just assumed we all forgot about winter 2018-19.

Good idea! Leave all the dead trees, brush and foliage so as to not hurt Mother Nature or disturb her natural beauty. Continue the assault on the unborn humans though. Bunch of#%~<#>*+!!

If California had spent the money they spent on the high speed train to nowhere on a desalination plant, they would have the water they need. Why is no one pointing that out?

You know what greatly accelerates water usage?

Letting in millions of illegal immigrants.

The odd thing no enviro has ever been able to explain: before dams, and before their continuous water releases through the summer, just how did fragile fishees survive the high salt water in the delta every summer, every drought for 120,000 years?

We’ve had decades to build desalination plants. In the last few years great new efficient technologies have been developed. Instead, we blew tens of billions on a train that never got built. It’s worse than just government incompetence. The politicians are too busy feeding at the trough to actually give a crap about the state, the people, the economy.

LOL, I just pointed it out though a few minutes behind you. :-)

To be fair, I’ve mentioned it on this board a few times over the years.

We have at least one FReeper glad the water is keeping California’s rivers “alive,” because he’s fished in all of them.

That is the great unanswered question.

CA is located next to a massive body of water. Can’t some pinhead do the math?

Our skies get dark enough to blot out the noon sun when california burns. Our air becomes unbreathable and smells like a bad tire fire. I despise california

I live near Folsom Lake and monitor/watch the inflow and outflow and also the water level.

These people in charge are ABSOLUTE IDIOTS!!!!

Early in the season when we did have some rain, they were letting massive amounts go out Folsom Dam. Fools!

Dam Fools!!!!!

I don’t think California has the electrical power to operate a new desalination plant. They can barely keep the lights on as it is.

Yes, now that people are waking up to the reality of the Covid paranoia, they need something else to keep people afraid.

Why don’t they pursue desalination technologies?
