Gov. Greg Abbott has signed Texas’ “constitutional carry” legislation, allowing Texans over age 21 to openly carry handguns in public without a license as of Sept. 1.

The serial number of the gun has to go on the paperwork that you fill out and sign. Has to be done at time of purchase.
WV Mountaineers welcome Texans to the club....we’ve been waitin’ fer ya.
PS...TG24, more than a half century of voting has made me one of those Catagory I “trolls” that don’t think a whole helluvalot of the GOP.
The word Pistolero can about before there auto loaders.

Good writing and their main mandate is to report facts and only facts. No opinions or editorials at all.
PING!
Yes, great news.
And the photo is funny.
Many of those restricted places have been addressed in other states in bills that were easier to pass. Incremental change is easier than the big jump.
LOL! Thanks!
An armed society is a polite society.
except chicago.
Because in Chicago, the real “society” aren’t allowed guns. Just the anti-society, the mean ones.

Wonderful news from Governor Abbott this afternoon! Officially, HB 1927 Permitless Carry was signed today, but will be also part of a larger bill signing tomorrow.

HB 1927-Permitless Carry (Representative Schaeffer),
HB 1500- 2A Protections during Disasters/States of Emergencies (Representative Hefner),

SB 18-2A Protections during Disasters/States of Emergencies (Senator Creighton)
SB 19- 2A Anti-Discrimination - the state can no longer do business with private businesses who discriminate against the gun industry (Senator Schwertner)
SB 20- The Hotel bill-which requires hotels to allow you to carry concealed directly to your room or coming from your room to you car (Senator Campbell).
SB 550- The LTC holster bill that allows those who wish to carry openly, to choose the holster that suits them best as opposed to current law which requires either a shoulder holster or a belt holster. (Senator Springer)
We are thoroughly delighted that our Governor is signing all of these bills tomorrow.

Thanks for those great updates!
Seems pretty complicated for something there should be zero laws
TSRA is a great organization!
“Correct me if I am wrong, but this is an open carry law, not a constitutional carry law.”
Naa, we’ve had Open Carry for a while here, this is the real thing - if you’re legally allowed to carry, you can carry with or without a permit. The Republicans, led by Lt. Governmor Dan Patrick, did try to plot the demise of this bill, due to a bunch of paranoid Sheriffs thinking their counties would become a shooting gallery (as they also predicted with Concealed Carry and then Open Carry), so he was ‘deferring’ to them...but sorry Dan, we’re ADULTS in Texas and can handle guns responsibly...and we let you know just that.
“Finally, TX has out done PA in something.”
😂. Hilarious. Maybe you have been asleep for decades? 😂
The time on his desk doesn’t make any difference as long as it is signed by September 1st, the date new Texas laws take effect...
You will also need a permit to enter some businesses who will require it.
