Jack Ciattarelli, a former state assemblyman, is set to challenge New Jersey Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy in November after he clinched the Republican nomination for governor in the primary election on Tuesday.

Fifty-nine year-old Ciattarelli won more than 49 percent of the vote in the Republican primary with nearly 80 percent of precincts reporting, and he defeated his fellow GOP challengers — Philip Rizzo, Hirsh Singh, and Brian Levine — most of whom aimed to be closely associated with the agenda of former President Donald Trump.

This reminds me of the "Motor Trend Car of the Year" back in 1980. This was when GM came out with the X-Body front drive cars. Chevy, Buick, Oldsmobile and Pontiac. They were all the buzz.

But they split the vote. This was the car of the year because of the split vote:

President Trump needs to pick a candidate in each of these races to prevent a vote split.

I think that’s exactly what he did — by picking nobody.

Jerry Sandusky will be a guest on Sesame Street before a MAGA candidate ever gets elected governor of New Jersey.

Actually, Motor Trend's web site claims the execrable, AWFUL "First Chevy of the '80s" Chevy Citation was the winner:

https://www.motortrend.com/news/car-of-the-year-winners-2/

P.S. The AMC Eagle was a better car.

1980 Motor Trend Car Of The Year: Chevrolet Citation

The obvious reason for the selection of the Chevrolet Citation as the 1980 Motor Trend Car of the Year is that its score at the conclusion of our testing was the highest of all the cars nominated. It won on merit.

Underlying the facts and figures, however, was the realization that this car represents a clean break with the past and clearly points to the future of the American automobile. This can also be said of the other X-body cars that we evaluated. But the Citation proved to be first among its equals because it outperformed them in enough categories -- fuel economy and braking to name two -- to take the top spot.

President Trump has to stop endorsing Bush League Republicans who think amnesty is the answer to the illegal alien inundation.

Micro Rubio and John Hoeven have voted for amnesty before and they will do it again if re-elected.

Then they are rewriting history. I was there. They even explained in the article why the Eagle won.

BTW, this one was espeically near and dear to my heart because I bought a brand new 1980 Buick Skylark xBody and was horrified that the Eagle had won. But their explanation made sense.

Meanwhile, that Skylark was the worst car I ever owned. I sold it after a year for about $5500. I bought it for about $8500. I was willing to take the bath.

It looked brand new and the buyer was very excited.

Why I moved out of NJ. Two assholes knew they were gonna split the vote, so some scumbag could run against the Murphy scumbag, so the next governor remains a scumbag.

Those two shitheads weren’t MAGA. They were losers. MAGAs aren’t losers. Watch them campaign for this mook.

“MAGA or Rino?”

I heard Hirsh Singh on War Room or Fredericks’ show. IIRC, he said that Ciattarelli didn’t vote for Trump; doesn’t like Trump.

My dad had a Citation and had to replace an axle every 6 months due to the CV joint going bad. Warranty covered it for a while but then he had to start paying $300 each time. I think his was an 81 which is still new enough to be a test. Never buy the first 1-2 years of a new model. You’re merely doing extended testing for the car companies while they find and work out bugs.

RINO.
Establishment endorsed in all 21 counties and enough opposing candidates to diffuse the other vote.
Still better than idiot Murphy.

I had the wagon version. It was fun to drive but lots of problems with the transmission changing to FWD from under the dash. After the warranty period I traded it in.

I didn’t vote.

If Trump doesn’t specifically endorse a candidate, I won’t vote.
