Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin on Sunday defended his decision to vote against a sweeping voting rights bill and reiterated his opposition to gutting the filibuster, declaring in the strongest terms yet that he is not willing to change Senate rules to help his party push through much of President Joe Biden's agenda. "I believe that partisan voting legislation will destroy the already weakening binds of our democracy, and for that reason, I will vote against the For the People Act. Furthermore, I will not vote to weaken or eliminate the filibuster," Manchin, a moderate Democrat from West Virginia, wrote in an op-ed published in the Charleston Gazette.

Manchin still has aspirations for higher office.. He knows his career is over if he crosses the voters of WV...
Manchin and Sinema are taking the heat for other Dem (10?) Senators who see how crazy this radical agenda has gotten and want nothing to do with it.
When the Bolsheviks came for a farm families belongings/equipment, etc., they loudly claimed....
History seems to be repeating itself, and, since our schools no longer teach REAL history, the sheeple don't even have a clue to what is happening. The left doesn't even hide their nefarious deeds, any longer.
Then they get primaried out of office by a conservative candidate. Both have won as Democrats, Manchin several times. They have a better chance of holding on to office remaining Democrats.
Manchin represents a state that Biden lost by almost 40 points, so itās not like his phone is ringing off the hook with calls from constituents who are clamoring for him to support the DNC agenda.
Manchin should switch over to the GOP and be done with it.
WVA is one of the most republican states, is it not?
Very true.
What about Romney ?

Iām pretty sure Democrats still outnumber Republicans among registered voters in West Virginia. There may be lots of Trump supporters there, but that doesnāt mean they support the RNC agenda.
Republican presidential candidates have taken West Virginia by double digits since 2000. And over all that time Manchin has been winning elections as a Democrat. He plans on running again in 2024 and has no desire to be primaried out of office.
You wish.
The filibuster remains. Get used to it.
It appears you misread my comments . . . I am stating Joe Manchin’s proven history (refer to 0bamacare vote).
Without Manchin, the Dems lose WVA anyways. It'd be a lose lose for the Dems.
West Virginia has more white people on welfare than any place on the planet outside Great Britain. These people vote for Republicans only by default.
Manchin and Sinema will be begrudgingly lauded as heroes for keeping the filibuster after Republicans take Congress in ā22ā¦
The middle class are the new Kulaks!
