Bible in a Year:
We know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him.
Inside my parents’ old photo album is a picture of a young boy. He has a round face, freckles, and straight, light-blond hair. He loves cartoons, hates avocados, and owns just one record, by Abba. Also inside that album are pictures of a teenager. His face is long, not round; his hair is wavy, not straight. He has no freckles, likes avocados, watches movies rather than cartoons, and would never admit to owning an Abba record! The boy and the teenager are little alike. According to science they have different skin, teeth, blood, and bones. And yet they are both me. This paradox has baffled philosophers. Since we change throughout our lives, who is the real us?
The Scriptures provide the answer. From the moment God began knitting us together in the womb (Psalm 139:13–14), we’ve been growing into our unique design. While we can’t yet imagine what we’ll finally become, we know that if we’re children of God we’ll ultimately be like Jesus (1 John 3:2)—our body with His nature, our personality but His character, all our gifts glistening, all our sins gone.
Until the day Jesus returns, we’re being drawn toward this future self. By His work, step by step, we can reflect His image ever more clearly (2 Corinthians 3:18). We aren’t yet who we’re meant to be, but as we become like Him, we become our true selves.
Reflect & Pray
When songs and films encourage us to find our “true selves,” what do you think they miss? In what area can you step toward Christlikeness today?
Jesus, make me more like You today and every day.
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
A Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Did you do a good job of resting today?

Hi Everybody!
(((HUGS)))
Shavua Tov.
Wishing all our Jewish troops, veterans, families, allies, friends, and Canteeners
a peaceful and prosperous week.
Good evening, Kathy. *hugs*
A blessed Lord’s Day to you.
Hopefully, the weekend allowed you some time for a little R&R!
Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...and a Blessed Lord’s Day and Shavua Tov to you and yours.
Looks like you and Penny and Blue might finally be getting some nice weather. Any garage sales today?
IT IS 70 HERE!! Glad I am mostly indoors. If it stays this warm I might have to drag a chair out onto the deck and catch some rays.
I had a lovely ride and hit a few yard sales as well! Bought mostly some Jazz cd’s.
I’m listening to President Trump’s speech right now.I still love him!
Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
THANK YOU
for your service!
Well hello there, teenie...((HUGS))...I hope your area of the state stays safe from the coming summer weather. Have you had rain?
And a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours as well.
We are having warm temps, 70 right now, and sure would like some rain. Worked several hours today, but probably only a couple tomorrow getting ready for Monday.
Howdy, Kathy.
It’s been a pretty day up there though now it’s starting to look a little ugly. From what I’ve read in Lake Hood chat, it’s been pretty warm. I hope you took advantage of it with some time outside, hanging out with your feathered friends.
Prayers for our troops, veterans, families, allies, friends, and Canteeners
for a safe and peaceful week ahead.
He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.
G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.
Keep the Lord’s Day in the Lord’s way.
A blessed Second Sunday After Pentecost (Western) / Sunday of the Blind Man [Sixth and final Sunday of Pascha] (Orthodox) to all!
Howdy, luvie.
Hope you’ve had a good day. Summer settling back in yet?
Hot ‘n’ steamy here today.
Hey there, radu!
Yes, it’s heating up. It was lovely today, but tomorrow’s 94 will be the “coolest” day next week. Ack! What was it like there? I’ll bet everyone was happy that the museum has AC! :)
Good evening, radu...and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Did you have another great day at the museum? Lots of visitors?
It was 70 today!!!
Yuck! Summer sure IS moving back in there. I feel for ya! And for the kitties. Not going to be a fun week.
It was hot and muggy here today and will be all week. Today was a good day for heading to the area lakes so we weren’t as busy as last Saturday but yesterday was that busy. Walked the poor tootsies down to nubs. LOL
But it was a lot of fun.
