His offense: sending an email flyer to fellow law students in January that he pretended was from the Federalist Society, a prominent conservative and libertarian group with a chapter at the law school.
The satirical flyer promoted a discussion about the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, featuring Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., and the Texas attorney general, Ken Paxton. The title of the mock event: “The Originalist Case for Inciting Insurrection.”
The chapter’s leaders were not amused. They filed a complaint on March 27 with the university, which said in a message to Wallace that it wasn’t until May 22 that the complainants had asked the administration to pursue the matter.
“I was astounded,” Wallace, 32, said in an interview Wednesday. “I couldn’t believe that without any more than this letter of concern they placed my graduation and everything I’ve worked for for the last three years, they’ve placed that under threat.”
Wallace’s predicament drew national attention from both free speech groups and conservatives. It served as another example of the intense debate over political speech on college campuses in America.

Try mocking Black Lives Matter or LGBT and see where that gets you on a liberal campus.
Yahoo News I'm sure wouldn't be defending "free speech" then.
>>His offense: sending an email flyer to fellow law students in January that he pretended was from the Federalist Society
That isn’t “mocking”, that is fabrication and a hoax.
But AssPress, YahooooNews, and the NYet Times all make stuff up so no big whoop.
>>Wallace’s predicament drew national attention from both free speech groups and conservatives. It served as another example of the intense debate over political speech on college campuses in America.
What “free speech groups”? What “conservatives”?
Nothingburger:
“The complaint was resolved as expeditiously as possible, and the respondent and complainant have been informed that case law supports that the email is protected speech.”
Thirty-two and still a child. Astounded? If he would have mocked BLM or antifa or trans rights he would have been out of there in one day.
prolly not going to happen. Very soviat like though.
Wow, look at that. Yahoo found an example of a free speech issue on a college campus in which a leftist is the victim.
See, America? Leftist speech is being squelched on college campuses.
Forgery is not satire. This guy should never graduate law school if he doesn’t even understand that.
Anyone surprised that this lowlife will be working for the Federal government?
“I was astounded,” Wallace, 32, said in an interview Wednesday.

This was what caught my eye. the guy is 32 and still in school. He’s officially middle-aged and *still* in school!
That’s not freedom of speech, that’s false representation and defamation. How does his guy get off saying it’s freedom of speech?
The same people up in arms over this complaint are perfectly fine with the criminal charges being pursued by Biden’s corrupt, out of control DOJ against someone who tweeted humorous, obviously satirical memes encouraging likely Biden supporters not to vote (or to vote by texting some phone number, something no non-retarded adult could think was serious). First Amendment for me, but not for thee.
It was satire and pretty obviously so and in bad taste but it was just satire. His mistake was making it look like it came from the Federalist Society. If he hadn’t have done that, I’d be fine with it.
“What conservatives?” Certainly not the Federalist Society as those swamp creatures have been far from conservative for decades.
Aw, gee, lawfare.
Who invented that?
Pretty clear indicia that this is satire.
You can be sure if it were a member of the Federalist Society that had sent a “joke” about BLM, his graduation and diploma would be canceled, his reputation smeared and he’d have NO recourse.
Exactly. Headline is a fake news headline.
12 years of law school down the drain.
Wallace, 32?........................
