Approximately one-fifth of Americans who purchased guns last year were first-time buyers, according to new preliminary data from Northeastern University and the Harvard Injury Control Research Center.
The data also showed increases in the overall number of gun buyers and the total number of gun owners in the U.S.
Of the first-time buyers recorded in 2020, half were women, a fifth were Black and a fifth were Hispanic, according to The New York Times, which reported on the new data.
Last year's first-time buyers were less likely than usual to be male and white, the Times noted.
The newspaper did note, however, that first-time buyers accounted for approximately 20 percent of gun sales in 2019, signaling that the pandemic did not kick off the trend.

Prices are high but availability is also a huge problem. The pinch point is everywhere and everything.

I had never seen the disclaimer of free floating prices on ordered items before. “This is the price IF I had it. I’ll accept your order but you must pay the going price, whatever that is, when I get the item in stock.” Now that seems to be SOP.
I recently told one of my left-leaning friends that law-abiding blacks are among the staunchest defenders of the 2nd Amendment. He was speechless.
I noticed that blacks were over represented in the numbers. “Law-abiding blacks” would skew it even further.

Every Gun I own is different than the others.
I’m one of those “I’ll take one of each” kind of guy.

This propaganda about gun control is beating a dead horse. There are enough rules and regulations all politicizing the Second Amendment to choke a politician to death...one more remark about the AK-47 being an Automatic Weapon is proof they know nothing about which they speak.
