An employee who fatally shot nine people at a California rail yard before taking his own life as law enforcement rushed in had talked about killing people at work more than a decade ago, his ex-wife said.

He had two semiautomatic handguns and 11 loaded magazines, Smith said. A locker at the rail yard believed to be the gunman’s contained “materials for bombs, detonator cords, the precursors to an explosive,” the sheriff said.

This shows the fallacy of gun control. California has the strictest laws in the nation but the perp has no criminal record so he was able to purchase as many magazines as he needed. Maybe the state could reduce crime if it locked up rapists...

And almost without a doubt, it was a gun free zone so all the victims had not chance to defend their life.

California’s laws restricting your God given right to protect yourself and your property is to blame for this. If one or two or more of those people had hand guns ,this wouldn’t have happened.
Get a gun ,carry it always and always be alert.

Gee, where is the AR-15 that so many rushed to the cameras to demand be outlawed? I would have thought there would have been some trampled to death by the politicians racing to demand immediate Congressional action.

Get a gun and learn how to use it before you start packing, otherwise you are probably going to be dangerous.

had talked about killing people at work

Of course h did, and he was mentally unstable and likely taking pharmaceuticals. We need some common sense mental illness regulations.

his ex-wife said he used to come home from work resentful and angry over what he perceived as unfair assignments.

No doubt this went on for years, and this guy who was obviously not mentally stable, just detonated.

Sounds much like James Huberty who shot up the MacDonald’s in San Ysidro back in 1984, and caused the anti-gun people to start targeting rifles, and extended magazines.
