POLL: 15 percent of Americans believe central QAnon theory
The Hill ^ | 05/27/21 10:16 AM EDT | BY MARINA PITOFSKY -

Fifteen percent of Americans agree with the central false tenet of the QAnon conspiracy theory: that the government and other entities are controlled by Satan-worshipping pedophiles running a child sex trafficking ring, according to a new poll.

Among Republicans the survey, released Wednesday by the Public Religion Research Institute, found that 23 percent of respondents agreed with the statement that “the government, media and financial worlds in the U.S. are controlled by a group of Satan-worshipping pedophiles who run a global child sex trafficking operation.”

That number declines to 14 percent among independents and 8 percent among Democrats.

The survey also found that 20 percent of Americans believe another central part of the conspiracy theory, that “there is a storm coming soon that will sweep away the elites in power and restore the rightful leaders."

Twenty-eight percent of Republicans surveyed agreed with the statement, compared to 18 percent of independents and 14 percent of Democrats.

The poll also found that 15 percent of survey respondents said that “because things have gotten so far off track, true American patriots may have to resort to violence in order to save our country.”

Twenty-eight percent of Republicans polled said that they agreed with the statement, along with 13 percent of independents and 7 percent of Democrats.

Approximately 4 in 10 Americans who say that they trust far-right news outlets like OANN and Newsmax said that they believe the false theory that the government and other institutions are controlled by “Satan-worshipping pedophiles.”

White evangelical Protestants, Hispanic Protestants and Mormons are the most likely among religious groups polled to agree with any of the central beliefs of the QAnon conspiracy theory.

The survey was conducted online between March 8 and March 30 among 5,149 adults in the U.S. The margin of error is plus or minus 1.5 percentage points.

What percentage believes that the government is controlled by statists who couldn't care less about individual rights or individual freedoms?

I know nothing about QAnon, but since the Hill claims that the organization produces “false theories”, I’ll have to look into it since there’s a roughly 90% chance that they are lying (what else is new)?

Sorry libs, but you have the believability of Dan Rather.

And even less intelligence - if that’s possible.

False ?
Unlikely perhaps
But false ? How can they be so sure?? It’s stuff like this that lends credibility to the conspiracy theory (that existed long before Q was even a thing)

how can they quantify whether or not someone is a satan-worshiping child trafficking elitist just by asking them?

look at what they do... i think the 23% are more spot on when we judge them for their actions.

I agree that “the government, media and financial worlds in the U.S. are controlled by a group”, but I would call them even less kinder things than “Satan-worshipping pedophiles who run a global child sex trafficking operation.”

I’d say the “central tenet” is really the belief that “Q” was an insider with real knowledge rather than just another 4chan troll.

I think after the JFK shooting and Warren Commission....I’m mostly skeptical to the max now.

I agree with your take.

When I used to see people sharing Q drops, I wasn’t enticed at all.

But the more the media tries with what seems like such hidden desperation to de-legitimize the Q stuff, the more they make me suspicious.

I have been hearing a lot lately, all apart from Q, that human trafficking is a BIG problem these days. You wont get many stories on it from the main stream media, but then you have to ask why stories like this one about Q even need print if there isn’t an agenda for them.

A common tactic is to throw out utterly crazy conspiracy theories in order to throw a smoke screen over what actually happened and thus discredit it.

For instance, it is a generally accepted fact that Jeffrey Epstein helped run a child prostitution ring and facilitated some rather high level people to have sex with children. What actually happened is real and ugly enough to shock all of us.

But now that there are stories circulating that thousands of children are born and raised in underground tunnels for purposes of sex and never see the light of day, it is so out of the realm of believability that unfortunately the Epstein stuff that actually happened gets lumped in with it and allows those who participated to get away scot free.

This is all by design.

Just 15% !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Americans have a problem it is called Democrats and the Democrat Party.
I’d venture to say the VAST majority of Americans would just as soon that party departed our shores and went to wherever,
Democrats are like Palestinians, artificially created people, nobody wants and nobody likes. But there are laws and ethics that don’t allow us to obliterate them ALL!
I’d suggest Liberia. a country created for the chosen people.
Democracy has worked so well for them, I’m sure our White “woke” Democrats would flourish there..

ummmm... the Epstein stuff is CONNECTED, both figuratively and quite literally, to the underground tunnels. Dig a bit (sorry about the pun) into DUMBs.

The only way to be sure is to infiltrate them and document their activities. To do that, you have to BECOME them. A decent person is not able to do so.

A significant percentage of power people are also drawn to pedophilia - the need to control is a critical facet of both obsessions.

The ancient Greeks and Romans had such practices. Egyptians too. The Dutroux child sex/murder ring in Belgium involved hundreds of rich and powerful people in the 1990s. And look at the Clintons, celebrities, royalty and others repeatedly visiting Epstein's pedophile island.

I haven't really followed the specifics of the QAnon theories, but the idea that rich and powerful people often turn to sexual abuse of children for their jollies is a historical fact that long predates QAnon and the US.

I know nothing about QAnon, but since the Hill ...

"QAnon" is a derogatory term used by the left that was in the past fearful of Q, but now they are panicking. Thus, we see more and more articles like this one from the Hill. There is Q (about 10 individuals under the auspices of a military operation), and then there are Anons, perhaps millions of them by now, waking up and discussing Q's plans, either from the drops themselves, or discussing it - if you are aware of The Great Awakening, you are technically an Anon.

Well I think we need to focus on what we can prove and go from there. Most people are laughing about the underground tunnels whether you care to admit it or not. We were getting traction on the Epstein Island stuff because it was backed up with evidence (like flight logs) and we have that Ghislane Maxwell sitting in jail. Many elites are truly frightened about their activities getting exposed.

It makes perfect sense to me that these elites will attempt to throw us off the trail (and discredit us) by tossing out things that are so outlandish that we lose all credibility.
