Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas) is reportedly weighing another bid for higher office – this time for Texas governor.
That the former Senate candidate and 2020 presidential contender is thinking about launching a challenge to Gov. Greg Abbott (R) was first reported on Monday by The Associated Press. Austin .... the Frisco or Portland of Texas.
As I watched Cruz make his "vote your conscience" speech at the 2016 RNC, I swore I'd never vote for him again. Two years later and I was enthusiastically voting for Cruz, but that speech was an unforced error on his part. There are still FReepers who refer to him as "Lyin' Ted".
Not much was known about Beto at the time. All his campaign ads showed him in rolled up sleeves looking like the second coming of RFK, while he spoke in generalities of "wanting a better world for our children", etc. Not much was known about him, and ignorant soccer moms developed a crush for him and almost elected him. Now all an opponent has to do is run the clip of Beto saying "hell, yes I want to confiscate guns!"
If this communist puke ever becomes governor of Texas, the state will economically go the way of Kalifornia and NY. People will flee in droves.
Thanks for the reply.
Texans may be Neanderthals (according to Biden) but they are not stupid.
I don’t think P wins a primary for Governor.
He needs public office. He doesn’t know how to do anything else.
