Wyoming state Sen. Anthony Bouchard (R), who’s challenging Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) for her House seat, acknowledged in an interview with Casper Star-Tribune that he impregnated a 14-year-old girl when he was 18.

He’s about 55.
I read he’s 65. If so, this happened 47 years ago.
Was he living in Wyoming in 1974? What was the age of consent back then?
That’s a great counter given that the Cheney family did so much in the Middle East.
You sound pretty judgemental.
A mistake is not the same as an accident. Youthful stupidity? Absolutely.
Criminal? In this case apparently not since there was no prosecution and he did marry her.
I don’t know much about him but I like the sound of an 18 year old with enough wits about him to refuse the easy way out with abortion and to take the hard way.
In other words, even as a young man, he had good character. He told the truth and dealt with his sin.
Well, I imagine the left will happily vote for him with those credentials.
He wasn’t an adult he was still a minor. Legal age of adulthood was 21.
If the candidate is now 65 yrs old, in 1974, kids were marrying at those ages still. Today’s 30 yr old is the new 12 yr old.
Levels of maturity are at an all time low.
Sounds like DemonRats and RINOs/GOPe are grasping at straws.
The only way to counteract the Swamp is to come out as he did.
Happened in Florida. It was legal back then.
So time for the Algore line “No controlling legal authority” then?
Have anyone other than me been to Wyoming?
In the 70’s there were not many women at all.
Ranch hands would drive around high schools.
I know a lot of people with good character, and weirdly, none of them got any 14 year olds pregnant when they were adults. So maybe we have a different definition of good character?
Don't let hate of Cheney blind you to the obvious flaws in this guy. We can get a better candidate who is more likely to beat Cheney.
Has to be better candidates.
When I was 19, I had a 16 year old girlfriend. Her parents were fine with it. I looked young but they knew how old I was. My parents were old fashioned, born in the 20s, but they were fine with it. This girl had already been in treatment for alcohol abuse and probably had more experience in, uhmm, other things than I did. Her mom was a pharmacist and made sure the girl was on the pill.
A couple of hundred years ago, it was normal for a girl 14/15 to marry a guy that was 18/19 etc.
The Roy Moore thing, if true, was a bit more extreme at 35/15 but probably not all that uncommon in AL back in those days. Any poor family would have loved to marry their girl off to a lawyer, doctor or anyone else that could provide a good life.(and possibly help the family financially) Especially a farming family that has a few girls. They needed boys to help on the farm, not a bunch of girls to feed.
That said, this candidate has already made a major error, by not anticipating that this part of his past would be used against him. He should have released this informatiom first, on his own terms.
Rubbish. There is one without sin. Mistakes that you made at 18 do not define you for the rest of your life. If that’s the case why live past 18 and why the cross? That being said, Cheney will use this to appeal to those who thinks Christianity demands perfection and he would probably lose. I’m ok with losing the seat entirely to the rats as long as she goes.
So... No prosecution, but he WAS punished.
These pukes in politics would make a harlots of Mary because she was also very young. Let’s go through history and apply 2021 standards to everyone!
