Christie says he won't defer to Trump in 2024

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) said in a new interview that he will not wait to see if former President Trump launches a bid for the White House in 2024 before making his own plans for the next election.

Christie, during an appearance on the “Ruthless” podcast, said he is “not going to defer to anyone” if he decides to run for president in 2024.

“And I'm also not going to be one of these people who's going to say, ‘Well, I'll wait to see what President Trump's going to do.’ You know, I'm not going to defer to anyone if I decide that it's what I want to do, and that I think I'm the best option for the party and for the country,” Christie said.

In this case, it would be something like:

l don't think the "won't defer to Trump" is the problem. Nobody should defer to anybody, if they have a stong message, agenda and base.

Christie has none of those. His occasional appeal is only to the media and it's only when he's trashing Trump in some way.

They won't even pay attention to him unless he has some swipe at Trump in his sentence. "I might run for President" won't get him two drops of ink, but "I might run for President, and will fight Trump" gets him a pile of articles and 18 seconds of media love.

He's a doughy loser.
