A 12-storey Gaza tower block housing the offices of the U.S.-based Associated Press and Qatar-based broadcaster Al Jazeera collapsed on Saturday after being struck by Israeli missiles, a Reuters witness said.
The owner of the building had been warned in advance of an impending Israeli missile strike, and the building had been evacuated.
The Israeli military did not immediately provide comment on the incident.
The building also contained a number of apartments and other offices.

"The strike came nearly an hour after the military ordered people to evacuate the building, which also housed Al-Jazeera, other offices and residential apartments. The strike brought the entire 12-story building down, collapsing with a gigantic cloud of dust.
There was no immediate explanation for why it was attacked."

Well, the Israeli Prime Minister did make it pretty clear that Hamas, et al, were going to be pounded into the ground. This is what that looks like.

And, Israel knows who the enemy is. Ass Press, indeed.

Losing the AP office was the best part of the story.

I am going to speculate that the Hamas and/or other terrorists thought the media would willingly serve as human shields.
This is my own speculation. Feel free to share it, or to share your counter to it.

They should have said, “All y’all evacuate except you AP guys.”

That is the only way to fight.
If the U.S. had fought any of its post-WWII wars the way we fought WWII (total war, NOTHING held back, till unconditional surrender), the world would be a better place today.

There was no immediate explanation for why it was attacked. My guess is that the IDF did not attack the building. They attacked the tunnel entrance that was below the building.

Have to wonder what kind of missiles were used to cause that much flame. In addition, amazing how it took down the building.
