I was just reading an article on Legal Insurrection about:
Sen. Dr. Rand Paul Reminds Fauci the NIH Taxpayer Money Went to Wuhan Institute of Virology

It’s a decent article but the comments go into more detail, especially this one:

From commenter “Aarradin” at LegalInsurrection.com:

Another good article on this, including some really good links in it.

Note that this research had already 1) been banned in the US because it was too dangerous, and 2) Both the Dr at the Wuhan lab and the lab itself had previously been banned by the US from receiving grants from us due to lax safety protocols.

Because of #1 above, Fauci waived the bans in #2 to grant the Wuhan lab our tax $$ to study bat corona-viruses, with a specific focus on mutating them to be contagious among humans.

Now he’s pleading ignorance. But, he signed off on this himself every step of the way.

https://www.asiatimesfinancial.com/why-the-us-outsourced-bat-virus-research-to-wuhan

“There was a federal moratorium on the funding of exactly the kind of gain-of-function experiments that went on at the Wuhan lab due to disastrous effects. So why didn’t the U.S. government halt its funding of the lab in Wuhan? That is a central question and Nicholas Wade, to his great credit, looked into it. And here’s what he found, quote, “Someone wrote a loophole into the moratorium. The moratorium specifically barred funding of any gain-of-function research that increased the pathogenicity of the flu, MERS or SARS viruses. But then a footnote on page two of the moratorium document states that quote, ‘an exception from the research pause may be obtained if the head of the U.S. government funding agency determines that the research is urgently necessary to protect the public health or national security.’”

And that’s exactly the loophole that was exploited. Who signed off on this?”

The head of the funding agency, NIH, that was issuing the grant would have had to. That was, and still is, Dr Fauci.

I am sure the symbolic face diapers and locking ourselves in the house while maintaining that “scientifically” established 6 ft. distance is keeping us all “safe” and helping to strengthen our immune systems.

People who think we should keep everything locked down forever, and people who don’t think the virus is real are both equally as ill informed and idiotic.

And we have both types on FR and in the nation.

It isn’t “The Flu” but it isn’t the damned Bubonic Plague, either.

I agree with you on that.

Short, directed lockdowns at infected areas (talking of 3 weeks) works, but keeping a lockdown forever isn't effective.

it's not the flu but its not the bubonic plague either

The masks reduce the chance of the wearer spreading the disease when in company.

The 6 ft distance again minimized this spread.

With the number of people vaccinated or who have already faced the virus, these two are no longer needed in my opinion.

I have felt from about mid-March to early April 2020 that was the case.

We should have protected those who needed protecting, and let everyone else live their lives as they chose how best to protect themselves.

The total lockdown was asinine.

The total lockdown was asinine.

That is the clearest, most succinct way to express it with 100% accuracy.

And I don’t fault President Trump on this. He was trying to provide leadership AGAINST the endless lockdown, and was sabotaged by his own party.

👍Yep. And early on, I read some of the results of the studies that had been done in the USA. One of the conclusions to paraphrase was, that no vaccine had been able to be developed, was not likely to be able to be developed, and therefore the wisdom of doing any further research in this area had to be questioned.
