This is crazy. I stopped for gas just now having no idea what was happening. It’s out. People here told me they’d been to other stations and found the same. pic.twitter.com/7LDVdUXPo4

Gas prices at both Murphy gas stations at Walmart jumped over 25 cents per gallon in 24 hours. The Texaco station near the Jville store jumped from $2.49 .9 to $2.89 .9!!!!! Talk about a huge jump!!! I wish I could find $2.89/gal gas. It's $3.29 - $3.49 near me. We're well on our way to $4/gal and higher this summer, thanks to the incompetence of the pResident Xiden regime's energy policy and killing America's energy independence their very first day in office.

Back in November before the elections, it was $1.88 .9 per gallon!!! That should tell you what the Marxist’s have done to the country. THAT alone crushed food prices and gas prices.

That's exactly what Senior Management did there when bonuses were in jeopardy of being cut. I.T. Budgets got slashed to the bone and then nothing got done. Not even the critical work.In the banking wheelhouse, I cannot think of a better way to kill your business.

The rumors also say that Colonial didn’t have proper backups and didn’t begin to have proper redundancy for the control systems. One rumor is that they’re going to have to do a format and reinstall/reimage on everything from the as-original state and then do whatever updates/customizations they need. I officially have much more respect for my employer's focus on Disaster Recovery plans.

I think they can get basic functionality and flow up by the end of the week with enough staff and resources thrown at it. Full functionality and maximum flow... well, we’ll see.

Your $2.49 to $ 2.89 jump makes my $ 2.75 to $ 2.89 jump seem puny. All other comments I will self censor. You already know them. We had a man in the White House who cared for us. Problem was, “us” didn’t care for him and he was kicked out. As in the Holy Bible, when whenever Grace, or mercy is spurned, Judgment or just follows. We are entering into the Judgment or justice stage. Believe it or not.

Based on this thread, I went to the gas station nearest me to fill up my truck and a couple of 5-gallon containers. That station was completely out. Fortunately, a smaller station a couple of miles further away still had some. (Virginia)

One rumor is that they’re going to have to do a format and reinstall/reimage on everything from the as-original state and then do whatever updates/customizations they need. If that's truly the case, there's no way they're going to be back up and operational by the end of the week.
Colonial Pipeline has already proven they're run by complete idiots. Why would anyone think they'll be back up and running by end of week? Weeks or MONTHS would probably be far more accurate. They probably don't even have the config documentation for the servers they need to rebuild and some Bubba is going to have to do it from memory.
Good luck with that.

Look - we can protect the infrastructure like pipelines and roads and bridges and dams and ports ... Or..
We can 'protect' the Biden commie/thug idea of 'infrastructure' and help subsidize day care for four year olds...
(Here's a flash commie bimbos of MSNBC - if "mommy" can't get her four year old to daycare - or have water for her to drink - IT WON'T MATTER IF THE 'DAYCARE' IS FREE OR CHEAPER OR WHATEVER...)

Wasn’t this hacking possible when President Dr. Trump was in office? Yeah, and middle east thugs could have attacked Israel too... and Mexican cartels (like what's happening now)...
and yeah, hackers could have shut down pipelines... but it didn't happen because the evil ones of the world were afraid ... Afraid because Trump was a real President who would have stopped them... and Biden is a commie thug's wet dream of a pushover squish..

I am NOT happy that the idiot infesting the White House cancelled the Keystone Pipeline and that it took the incompetent imbecile dementia addled pResident Xiden 4 days to "respond" to this issue. If this had been a President Trump administration the media would be screaming "Trump's fault" at the tops of their lungs. But hey, it's their boy in the White House so it's all good, right? Right on every point.

I just hope and pray these ‘hackers’ are white hats. Could be black hats, though.

How would they be “White” hats?

Interesting comment from the hackers...
A cyber-criminal gang that took a major US fuel pipeline offline over the weekend has acknowledged the incident in a public statement.
“Our goal is to make money and not creating problems for society,” DarkSide wrote on its website.
The US issued emergency legislation on Sunday after Colonial Pipeline was hit by a ransomware cyber-attack.
On Monday, the FBI officially confirmed that DarkSide was responsible for compromising Colonial Pipeline’s networks, saying that it was continuing to work with the firm and other government agencies on the investigation.

Why is all this critical infrastructure accessible via the Internet? Where's the air-gap? Why isn't all this critical infrastructure on its own managed WAN, completely independent of Internet access? Who are the assclowns responsible for the security of the infrastructure connected to the Internet which provides access to the pipeline infrastructure controls? Are they still employed? Why wasn't there a manual fail-over plan available to be implemented in the event of a computer based controls outage?ANY office you want to run for - - I'll vote for you...

What do you want to bet that a lot of their stuff is running Win2K or earlier? I wouldn't bet the farm, but would make a bet this was the case. I've been retired from IT for some years now, but saw this in action first hand with scientific equipment. The vendor ceases operation for whatever reason and third parties come in to fill the void. They can manage the hardware failures, but aren't able to upgrade the software to new operating system versions. Putting those systems on the internet was verboten back in the day..

Yesterday I found the last remaining $3.09/gal gas here in the far southwest suburbs of Shitcago. Filled both vehicles to the brim. Heard that many of the tankers here in the Midwest were being shipped to the East Coast due to Colonial pipeline shutdown (hacking...) and that we should expect to see $4+/gal gas here very soon.
Where did you hear this about the tankers here in Midwest being shipped to East Coast and $4.+/gal gas? I’m interested as I have a family member that must commute to work in Chicagoland...
BTW, I just checked GasBuddy, noon on Tuesday. Oddly every station in my area is reporting gas at $3.05 for regular, so you may want to use that app to look around your area...

Where's the air-gap? BTW, interesting aside: I have it on pretty good authority that some of our electronic warfare aircraft have the ability to penetrate an air-gap and cause all sorts of mischief on a gapped WAN.
