COVID is an abbreviation for the acronym COVID In India, 19 diseases and deaths have occurred at an unprecedented rate, with no end in sight to the epidemic and a top analyst predicting that the coming weeks will be "horrible" in the world of nearly 1.4 billion people.
The official number of coronavirus cases in India reached 20 million on Tuesday, almost doubling in the previous three months, while deaths officially surpassed 220,000. As shocking as those statistics are, the real figures are thought to be much larger, with the undercount reflecting the health-care system's problems.
People dying outside overcrowded hospitals and funeral pyres lighting up the night sky have been seen around the world.
Infections have risen dramatically in India since February, owing to increasingly infectious strains of the virus as well as government decisions to encourage large crowds to assemble for Hindu religious festivals and political rallies ahead of state elections.
Last month, India's top health official, Rajesh Bhushan, declined to speculate about why authorities were not better trained. However, the cost is clear: people are dying as a result of a lack of liquid oxygen and hospital beds, or because they were unable to get a COVID-19 exam

Prayers for India.
There are a lot of factors; crowding, sanitation, availablity of vaccine, but it makes me curious as to any genetic factors.
Very sad. I wonder why its taken so long for the virus to run rampant through India’s millions that live in primitive and unsanitary conditions.
If you were in Indian military intelligence, you would really have to wonder where this new variant that spreads so easily originated. BTW the Indians will gladly accept any vaccines shunned by Americans before they expire.

Same as Italy in 2020.

So 0.015%??
In other words 99.985% lived?
In a country of 1.4 billion people they can’t handle 220,000 deaths over one year???
Have deaths from all other causes dropped significantly (Are they counting everything as a COVID death)
There's obviously a lag between cases and deaths, but above implies a death rate of about 1%.
According to the CDC, the death rate in the USA is 1.78%. Also, the total number of cases in the USA so far is 32 million.
So by these simple measures, India is doing better than the USA.
How do we know this exactly?
Very sad. And it kinda puts a dent in the old “it’s no worse than the flu” argument.
Side note: Whether by accident or by design, the ChiComs are responsible for all this misery. But no one in power now seems to care about that. Trump cared. So he had to go.
>>The official number of coronavirus cases in India reached 20 million on Tuesday, almost doubling in the previous three months, while deaths officially surpassed 220,000.
And yet the USA is allegedly over 570,000 deaths and 32 million cases.
India is 17.7% of the world’s population.
The USA is 4.25% of the world’s population.
Why all this now ?
I don’t believe a word of this story.
“People dying outside overcrowded hospitals and funeral pyres lighting up the night sky have been seen around the world.“
++++

Someone posted, the other day, that this is actually common practice, in India.....for decades. Nothing new.
Makes sense, considering their population density and overall conditions.
Most people in India die outside of overcrowded hospitals. It’s been this way for over a century. And, large outdoor crematorium/pyres aren’t exactly a new thing in India either.
