Dr. Carson & Gov. Noem: Biggest cultural challenge of our lifetime: Defeating anti-American indoctrination
Fox News ^ | 5-3-21 | Ben Carson, M.D., and Kristi Noem

In his 1989 farewell address, President Ronald Reagan worried whether we were doing a good enough job teaching our own children what it means to be American. He longed for what he called an "informed patriotism."

This sentiment was echoed over 30 years later by President Trump, who in his own farewell address warned that our "loss of confidence in ourselves" was not just a worry, but our greatest danger.

"No nation can long thrive," President Trump said, "that loses faith in its own values, history and heroes – for these are the very sources of our unity and our vitality."

It’s bad enough to lose one’s faith, which at least holds forth the possibility of recovering it.

But what if we give up and abandon altogether the teaching of our children the true and inspiring story of America? What will become of our youngest Americans who are starting off with a blank slate about what our country means and stands for? What exactly are we doing if we are not teaching them about their country’s values, history and heroes?

The alarming answer is, in our nation today, there are far too many classrooms where our children and grandchildren are not learning about the positive revolution in human affairs set in motion by our Founders, or how later leaders like Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass and Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. called upon the wisdom and vision of the Founders to defeat the evil injustices of slavery and segregation.

Instead, many are learning that our Founders were altogether sinful men unworthy of statues or even praise. The historic achievements of Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Douglass and King are being shelved in favor of the false and destructive narrative that we are a systemically racist and ultimately irredeemable nation.

It’s unlikely that I disagree with anything in this op-ed, but I’ve personally had it with Noem for rolling over for the transgender bullies.

Did Noem run this by the business interests in her state? Would hate to see her backpedal, grovel, and capitulate on another conservative issue because she lacks the commitment.

You have Soviet style funding you are going to get Soviet style education. The teachers are simply paying tribute to the ones giving them the paychecks. The solution is to privatize all of it. Make parents pay out of their own pockets and they will insist on value, like any other product or service they buy.

Right now even the people without kids are forced to pay for their own destruction as the State Indoctrination Camps pump out Leftists who hate America. ( And in many cases kids end up hating their own parents as well! )

Totally understand and agree with the sentiment about Noem.

Fortunately, the article is a good one, no matter who wrote it. (Dr. Carson's name is on the article, too.)

From the article:

The creation of President Trump’s Advisory 1776 Commission offered real promise, as it sought a return to a truthful, patriotic education worthy of an exceptional nation. But, signaling his capitulation to the far-Left of his party, President Biden canceled and disbanded the 1776 Commission just hours after his inauguration.

They go on to talk about something called the 1776 Pledge which can be found here: https://www.1776action.org/

Dr. Carson is in the news far more frequently than I expected him to be after working for President Trump.
I am very glad that he is popping up here and there with calm words of wisdom. He is needed.

Noem can certainly talk the talk. Too bad when it came time to actually walk the walk, she headed the other way. I certainly would not vote for this woman in a national election.

I believe Trump wants to run again - if he seeks the nomination he will certainly get it. I'll vote for him again, and would be happy to vote for DeSantis as his running mate.

Just for the record, I agree about Noem, although I don’t know much more about her other than that she backed down from signing legislation.

Nevertheless, I found this short article worth the read.

Kristi Noem is a blessing to the FR cause. Doxing her for one or even a handful of disagreements is idiotic. In the battles to come we will need her and others like her who we may think have strayed in one instance or another.
