Get Ready For The Most Painful Inflation Since The Jimmy Carter Years Of The 1970s

Biden administration officials would like for us to believe that this inflationary period will just be “temporary”, but exactly how do they plan to achieve that?

Do they have a plan to somehow pull trillions of dollars out of the system?

No, they are planning to borrow and spend trillions more.

In the 1970s, double-digit inflation made headlines for years on end. Many people believe that we are well on the way to a return to such levels, but according to John Williams of shadowstats.com, we are already there. In fact, if inflation was still calculated the way that it was back in 1980, we would already be in double-digit territory.

Remember Jimmy Carter and his “misery index”? In his 1976 campaign, he added together the rates of inflation and unemployment, and said that President Ford was presiding over great economic misery.

When Carter ran for re-election in 1980, he was presiding over a much higher misery index than President Ford had been blamed for.

Politicians criteria for criticizing their opponents can come back to haunt them sometimes. And history tells us that the voters sent Jimmy Carter home after his single term.

Amazing how well an economy runs under competent leadership as opposed to when a clown is in charge.

The younger generation wasn’t around back then. Won’t hurt them the same way as they spend their little money on tattoos. Remember 21% interest? I would have voted for Carter a 2nd time after listening to all those lies about Reagan. Couldn’t-I was overseas. 4 years of Reagan changed me. Could this do the same? The world was a much more dangerous place under Carter so this new experience will have to hit them too. Will we take advantage? Let’s just say the country wasn’t ready for Reagan in ‘76.

Yes, I’ve sometimes thought, that Jimmy Carter set the stage for Reagan, that we had to go through the Carter years, to get to where Reagan could be elected president.

Unfortunately, a stopped clock is right twice a day.

I have worked hard my entire life to save for my retirement, and I feel pretty confident it is all going to be completely wiped out.

I just don’t see how spending six trillion government dollars is going to have any other outcome.

IMO, if you ever wanted to see the danger of a seven year old boy getting his hands on a loaded handgun with no training, supervision, or other limitations, observe what happens when the Presidency, the Senate, and the House are all under Democrat control.

The Democrats are having the same effect on the US economy as losing the First World War had on the German economy.

And the results will be the same or worse than they were with the Germans.

I have thought the same, but there is a difference...the Carter Administration wasn’t actively turning half of its citizens into criminals and trying to figure out ways to prosecute them, and the economic damage was mostly due to stupidity and ignorance.

This government is being run with malignant intent.

Malice towards Americans who see Leftism as allying with enemies of this Republic, and...

Malice towards the historical values that have made this country what it was up until a few decades (or more) ago.

Carter was inept and stupid.

The current crowd running things are not only inept and stupid, but evil and malignant.

Well, look at the bright side; home equity will continue to to inflate right along with everything else. No sweat, think of the fabulous home equity loans that will be available making it possible for home-owers to get cash for their mortgage payments and all those toys and essentials at hyper-inlating prices. It's a great life.../s
