A statement issued by the Turkish Ministry of Defense regarding the ownership of the Incirlik base and all the weapons systems at its disposal! The announcement came as a blow because US Pentagon officials themselves did not expect any Turkish moves or statements involving the Incirlik base.
And yet the announcement of the Turkish Ministry of Defense does not simply involve the Incirlik base but refers to the Turkey-US Defense Treaty that was first revealed by WarNews247 a few days ago. The Turkish media clearly state that this is Ankara’s response to the recognition of the Armenian Genocide.

Lesson from Jimmy Carter: Weakness invites aggression

Heck, we saw weakness inviting aggression during the Vietnam war.
My understanding is make a single mistake in disassembling them, and the explosives are set off, the fissile material fizzles, releases a huge flood of neutrons, and melts down to a blob of highly radioactive formerly fissile daughter elements.
They might get it right on the 5th or 20th try.
Or not...
No.
And my father-in-law held a Q clearance a long long time.
He is dead now. He did not talk shop.
We were very close. He was an electrical engineer, and was an intelligence officer in the 82 Airborne.
I took him for his last visit to the plant in 2009. I knew many of his top employees, he was division manager for about 15 years.
yeah, that's the ticket...
“There is no way the nukes in AF inventory are unserviceable.”
I doubt that is true.
There are many in US storage that are not not. It is not necessarily in AF Inventory.
I think that was done years ago. Think not know...
Maybe we can detonate them remotely?
Correct, I have never been to Incirlik.
I know 2 pilots who have, and they hated their duty in Turkey.
Special plane and the NEST crews are absolutely needed - moving nukes is not like moving regular bombs - how would ordinary people know if the nukes are still stable? or leaking radiation and what to do about that. All personnel involved in any sort of nuke operations are specially trained.
Regardless of the bravado (... we are the USA. We do not need Turkey’s permission), we actually do need permission. It has been that way since we established bases there in the 50s - when I was there we had some specialized antennas but could not use them as the Turks had not been informed - we were told any attempt to mount them would result in Turkish artillery shelling and front line troops storming the base. That has not changed.
In fact, during the revolt a few years back their military ringed the air base because they were sure some people on it were aiding the rebels. We narrowly voided disaster then. This is a far more fragile situation.
And yet we flew a live nuclear cruise missile across the USofA thinking it was a practice load.
Look it up.
Would be nice while they’re singing Alley Oak Bar.
Watch Biden give them up.
The actual statement
https://www.arabnews.com/node/1851586/middle-east
says all FACILITIES belong to Turkey. He’s claiming the buildings and infrastructure, not US equipment.
Because the senile old fool is not really in charge.
And Erdogan knows it.
There was an issue with ownership of Incirlik a few years ago and the fate of those nukes came up then.
I should think the Air Force spirited those eggs out of the basket a long time ago. One nuke here and there, added to the tons of cargo moved daily, and nobody would be the wiser until they were long gone.
I’m just terrified that the Air Force brass hats DIDN’T quietly evacuate those nukes after the first warning. Could they possibly be that stupid ...? (silly question, I know)
whey my Puddin Pop, Jill?
I’ll wait for a real source before commenting on substance.
Because I’m nearly certain Turkey DID NOT unilaterally seize US nukes.
This.
