Thursday on CBS’s “This Morning,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said she was confident in Democrats’ election prospects in 2022.
Pelosi touted the Census results, which she hinted could be favorable for her party’s cause.

Plus, we should pick up seats due to the census.
I wonder how many people ignore the census because they don’t want the government to know they exist. I don’t think I have ever filled out a census form.
There is NO reason to doubt her confidence.

Despite all that, Dems still regularly lose elections.
For example we just had 5 straight Republican mayors in New York before the Dems finally won with DeBlasio.
Passing “tougher laws” have never stopped such people in any other nation at any other time in the past, but we shall see if it somehow magically stops them this time.

Passing tougher laws and cracking down on corruption have often stopped/reduced ballot stealing, otherwise we'd have had Dem presidents nonstop for tye last 100 years.

I live in Chicago, I don’t need to “look up” anything about it, although of course I learned about that in grammar school, since I’m not a millennial.
As I said, I’m talking about them blatantly stealing a NATIONAL election, not simply rigging local city elections as they have been doing for 100 years. Also, the people doing it are not just doing it out of simple corruption, but to institute a communist regime, which is quite a bit different than your usual “machine politics”.

Not once they have the machinery fully in place to rig elections they don’t. Haven’t had a Republican mayor in Chicago in 80 years, and I think it’s safe to say we still won’t have one in the next 80 years.

New York’s about the only “blue” city you can make that claim about. Sounds like the exception that proves the rule to me.

Again, I’m talking about NATIONAL elections, once the communists have felt confident in openly stealing them (and then proceeding to neutralizing courts, the military and other apparatus designed as safety valves). Show me one country in the world where they got to that point and then it was reversed by the legislature passing some “tough laws”. Just one, please.
Votes don’t matter... 2020 proved that beyond any doubt...

GOP easily lost millions of reliable voters... even if votes did matter, and fix wasn’t in, odds they take the house, without Trump on the ballot is low
GOP wants to win, Trump should run for a seat, and GOP should vow to make him speaker...that would instantly nationalize the election... and bring those folks they betrayed back... short of that, don’t expect them to show up.
Um, thanks to the electoral college, all national elections are local/state elections. The new laws being promulgated by Republican state congressmen will deal with Dem ballot fraud. That's what the laws are designed for.
The Dems carry out ballot fraud in New York City and New York State all the time and still lose regularly. Republicans won the New York City mayor elections 5 straight times. Gov Pataki beat Dem Gov Cuomo and won reelection another two times. He won 3 straight elections as governor.
What more ya got?
There are towns/cities/states that the Dems have t won for ages. Maybe, just maybe, those people there prefer Republicans? Same with Chicago and the Dems. Doubt if Republicans worry too much about Chicago at the national level.
Except New York City is at least 3 times the size of Chicago with a vastly bigger economy and over 3 times the population of Chicago and vastly more important in political and any other way.
Which is probably why it’s an exceptional case. Most cities in the country that “go blue” never come back. Citing one exceptional example that once in a blue moon does manage to elect some Republicans doesn’t change this fact.

Um, all states cannot pass their laws at the same time. Most red state and GOP controlled swing states are busy working hard on it.

Well, I’m still waiting for you to say a single word actually addressing my original point, which is about communists openly and blatantly rigging NATIONAL elections, not about local politics.
I mean, you can keep rambling about New York politics if you want, but it’s not really relevant to the point I was making.

Sure, yet they’re still national elections nonetheless. Have you any examples of a country where communists have gotten bold enough to openly and blatantly rig a national election, and then their power grab was stopped simply by passing some new laws in the legislature? I can’t think of any, and nobody I have posed the question to on FR has ever been able to give me a single example yet. Surely, if it had ever happened, we have the collective brain power here to have noticed it...

Right, just like gun laws are designed to stop criminals from getting guns. We know how well that works, since criminals always are conscientious about obeying the law.
