Tyler Perry, the director who won the humanitarian honor at the Academy Awards, spoke of unity during his acceptance speech Sunday and said his mother taught him as a boy to refuse hate and refuse to succumb to "blanket judgments."
"And in this time, with all of the internet and social media and algorithms and everything that wants us to think a certain way, the 24-hour new cycle…it is my hope that all of us would teach our kids, and I want to remember: just refuse hate. Don’t hate anybody."
His message comes at a trying time in the country. Last week, former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was convicted of murder in the death of George Floyd, and protests have erupted over two fatal police shootings in Columbus, Ohio, and Brooklyn Center, Minn.
Perry said he refuses to hate someone "because they are Mexican or because they are Black or White, or LBGTQ."
"I refuse to hate someone because they are a police officer. I refuse to hate someone because they are Asian. I would hope we would refuse hate," he said.

It would also be important for some self-reflection on the part of African Americans. They need to step up and accept some responsibility for what's going on in their communities, and just as importantly, realize they have been played by the left who have been the driving factor in corrupting their culture and lives.
Very good message, I think...pray...those are the sentiments of most people.
I have zero praise for Perry’s propaganda message.
Nobody hates in the way he describes hate. Nobody.
The ONLY hatred is for white people, period. But Perry did not have the honesty to say that.
Try this, Perry: “The hatred against white people must stop. White people are not the enemy of anyone. Anyone who hates white people is a hater, period. Stop hating white people, stop disrespecting white people, and stop lying about white people.”
But our side, stupidly, praises him for his meaningless and totally futile statement. That is why we have lost. Our cluelessness knows no bounds. We are so desperate to prove ourselves to those who hate us and despise us. And we only prove we are idiots.

Where was THAT sentiment and THAT speech while the ‘protests’ were destroying US communities? Why wait for the BS Hollywood event to speak up?
He didn’t say a single thing that US Conservatives have not been saying for decades...Maybe the radical s*&t is getting too close to home and is beginning to cost money....HIS money??

Reminds me of the episodes of "Amazing Animal Friends" (I think that's what it is called) that my wife and I watched Sunday on Nat Geo. The show will feature unusual animal "friends", like a horse and a cat, or a dog and a rabbit or a dog and guinea pigs. Someone on the show will usually say "if only people could learn from these animals".
And let's not forget the words of the late, great Rodney King: "Can't we all just get along?".

You are wrong. Perry included Asian people in his don’t hate speech. It’s almost solely Blacks that have been attacking Asian people frequently. It ain’t love. Perry was talking to his own people primarily, as he well knows that the hatred towards Whites and Asians is coming from his own kind. Why are YOU hating on Perry when he is on our side, not the haters. Your OWN targeting is skewed.

If Dad stays home and takes responsibility for his, then GovCo has no place in that home.
If Dad stays home, there simply are fewer vacuums or roles for it to fill.
If Dad stays home and is “Dad”, there will be fewer 20 - 40 year old unfinished kids now pretending to be adults, faking it until they make it while trying to catch up to those who grew up in a “normal” two-parent home.
Generations of human potential lost and all due to the break up of the family. What a shame.
You are 100% wrong.
First, I stated no hatred, and have no hatred, for Perry or anyone else.
Second, black people attacking Asian people is entirely irrelevant. Black people attacking black people is also irrelevant, although it is a much bigger problem.
Third, ONLY white people are the targets of mass hatred, taught, fomented and implemented by nearly every institution in America, now including the military. No other group is such a target of organized massive hatred, so what Perry said was cowardly and dishonest.
I am very sorry people on our side are too sentimental and fearful to acknowledge that.
And you also make my point for me, in a way.
Why didn’t Perry call out black people specifically and in particular, if he objected to the massive hatred emanating from their segment?
