Well, it’s not looking all that good for the folks trying to take down Matt Gaetz.
What started out as a scandal that looked and sounded like it might actually become *something* has fizzled into nothing.
Now, I’m not saying that the fake news did a good job, but Matt didn’t handle things well out of the gate, he got a bit weird and a tad frazzled – and the story about the extortion sounded so convoluted and wild. But it was real.
But we’re nearly a month into this thing and so far not one single “accuser” has come forward against Gaetz.
An article by Politico a couple of weeks ago, admitted that this might have been a ploy by someone close to Matt who was trying to deflect attention away from him. We don’t know for sure yet, it’s still being investigated, so Matt’s not “off the hook” by any means, but the air has gone out of the balloon for all of the people on the left who were dancing on his political grave.

Polls also show that Matt’s constituents in Florida are standing strongly behind him – they’re not wavering.

supporting him.

He’s not that young and letting himself get into this situation...with his position and knowing that he has a target in his back...shows a bit of poor judgment at best and irresponsibility at worst.
I don’t particularly like his public persona (but I was surprised, because I always thought he was gay) but his positions are good and he fights for them. I don’t live in his district but I’d vote for him if I did.
Still, he needs to grow up, choose his friends and associates more carefully, and restore credibility. I don’t think he did anything wrong, but a lie -especially if it seems slightly credible - goes round the world twice while truth is just getting its boots on.
Yep. Hopefully this is a lesson for others on our side. When the vermin in the media come after you: FIGHT.
I am sure leftie groups and/or individuals are offering money to any female who can demonstrate past connection to Gaetz to make sex charges. Surely they will find something, some woman who would like to have a quick hundred thousand.

I never knew anything at all about the guy. But I supported him 100% from start to end.
AFTER due process is followed and AFTER a court declares him to be guilty of something or other, at THAT point I might be willing to criticize him. Not a moment before.
That’s the point that I made with liberals. He didn’t do anything illegal, even if perchance whom he did date wasn’t reasonably close to his age.

I figured from the start that they had nothing. If they had had anything substantive, they would have come out with it....instead of the usual “unnamed sources” BS.

When it was reported that disgraced former Seminole County Tax Collector was giving the FiBbIes info that they could use against Congressman Gaetz ... it all made sense. This was another frame-up!
Now I can’t understand/know why Trump has stood back. But perhaps he felt that letting Gaetz work it out was the better choice at that time.
We can’t be sure that it is over, but that Greenberg dude must be in super-deep poop now that he has probably failed to deliver what the corrupt-o-crats wanted.
