During an interview with KARE 11 a juror for the trial of ex-Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin, who ultimately found out she was an alternate, expressed concern about being called for the job because she "didn't want to see rioting again" and was scared people would show up at her home if they were unhappy with a particular verdict.
Raguse: Did you want to be a juror?
Christensen: I had mixed feelings. There was a question on the questionnaire about it and I put I did not know. The reason, at that time, was I did not know what the outcome was going to be, so I felt like either way you are going to disappoint one group or the other. I did not want to go through rioting and destruction again and I was concerned about people coming to my house if they were not happy with the verdict.
I just had a fascinating sit-down interview with one of the alternate jurors in the Derek Chauvin trial.
Lisa Christensen was the juror who lived in Brooklyn Center. One night she could hardly make it home after testimony ended because of protesters blocking intersections.

Despite a fear of riots, Christensen still believes Chauvin was guilty on all three charges of second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the death of George Floyd. This was the verdict the jury unanimously handed down Tuesday afternoon.
"Christensen, who lives in the city where a white officer shot and killed a 20-year-old Black man during a traffic stop this month, said that if she had been part of deliberations, she would've found Chauvin guilty. But Christensen had no idea that she was one of two alternates until the judge dismissed her right before the 12 jurors were sequestered," KARE 11 reports.
After closing arguments on Monday, Chauvin's attorneys asked the judge for the case to declare a mistrial after Democrat Congresswoman Maxine Waters called for violent rioters to get "more confrontational" if a guilty verdict wasn't reached. While the judge denied the request, he said they may have a case if they file an appeal.

That should be enough for a new trial.
This Jury should be arrested
Jury nullification was a solid idea that was kicked around by our side back in the early 90s. Like most good ideas there was zero follow through. As NORMALS begin to relocate to safe enclaves, I hope this idea gains new traction. If we can take the fear of going to jail, for non criminal behavior, we will be better off.
It’s been in motion awhile, but clearly now anyone saying we live in a constitutional Republic governed by law has got their head up their ass. We are now a populist democracy, the mob wins.
Juror intimidation. The verdict must be overturned.
Agreed.
Just this interview alone is enough for appeal and dismissal.
Is there anyone who can’t see that the jury was tainted?
ANYONE?
(not counting the usual half-a-brains...)
Why? She she was an alternate.
The actual interview and transcript is here: https://www.kare11.com/mobile/article/news/local/george-floyd/derek-chauvin-trial-alternate-juror-lisa-christensen/89-97b74eb1-c875-4ed5-93ad-5c72620b9f18 . She comes across as a very reasonable person (she was an alternate and wasn’t in the jury room for deliberations).
A good representative of what someone sitting in the jury box felt, imho.
Mistrial in 3...2...1.. riot.
There is as much chance for a mistrial as there is for Joe Manchin to vote with Republicans on any issue.
“As NORMALS begin to relocate to safe enclaves ...”
Interesting thought. And there are the autonomous zones. Is segregation on the rise? Blacks now give one more reason for it: whites are scared of them.
The number of safe enclaves are quickly running out.
“We are now a populist democracy, the mob wins.”
I respectively disagree. In a democracy the votes count. Not sure that is true any more. We are closer to Nazi Germany or Red China.
“I did consider the defense’s points about the enlarged heart, the narrowing of the arteries, the drug use. But regardless, I do not think he would have passed away on that day at that time.”
Duh! Arteries up to 90% blocked. He resisted arrest - violently. So yeah, if no one tried to arrest him, he’d have lived until he tried to run down a block or do anything else strenuous.
But cops can’t refuse to arrest on the basis someone MIGHT have a heart attack if they fight. And once he took the drugs and fought....he was likely to die. Regardless.
Doesn’t sound like a reasonable person to me. But she WOULD fit in with her peers - just stop arresting people and then blacks won’t die resisting. Liberal logic!
You disagree with her. Fine. That doesn’t make her unreasonable.
