Los Angeles is set to limit the usage of disposable napkins and utensils in restaurants as part of an effort to decrease plastic waste and keep a few extra dollars in the pockets of businesses that have been hurting due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The ordinance is an “easy, common sense requirement that we hope will help restaurants save money, help the city save money from unnecessary trash cleanups in our neighborhoods, and help stop piling unused stuff in our already teeming landfills,” Los Angeles Councilman Paul Krekorian said in a statement.

Plastic waste? Hmmm. Guess the thousands of discarded hazardous waste masks piling up against the curb aren't an issue since they're not piling up at the landfill. As a famous mostly piece-full blmer once said. "On you knees garcetti! NOW!" See, complying means not dying. Right 'mare'?

Meanwhile homeless people are pooping on the street—you can’t make up this stuff!

The ordinance is an “easy, common sense requirement that we hope will help restaurants save money, help the city save money from unnecessary trash cleanups in our neighborhoods, and help stop piling unused stuff in our already teeming landfills,” Los Angeles Councilman Paul Krekorian said in a statement.” Thus the requirement that customers supply and
dispose of their own toilet paper will benefit everyone!”.

Or pick it up. Obviously la is being so well run and has so few problems that they have to make up issues to keep busy. No?

“Meanwhile homeless people are pooping on the street—you can’t make up this stuff!”

Exactly what I thought! It’s like a patient coming into the ER with a sucking chest wound, and the doctor is worried about a boo boo on the patient’s little finger.

If this were such a good idea don’t you think the restaurateurs would do it on their own volition??!?

What about the dirty, scummy COVID-filled masks that are all over the streets, sidewalks & blowing around?

Cleaning up 1 homeless encampment would neutralize about a million plastic forks & straws from restaurants.

Do like most (it would appear) and just toss them out in the parking lot someplace.

And in one town in WA bans plastic straws because they don’t want them to pollute the pristine streams and waterways. Plastic lids for drinks still okay.

I guess they figure, as long as they aren’t wasting toilet paper, it’s all good!

People buy them outside the city limits and just bring them in; and in a fit of pique, they’ll drop them in those street side refuse containers.

And how much extra WATER does LA have to wash cloth napkins, metal utensils and plates?

Paper napkins disintegrate in land fills, plastic utensils not so much. What about the styrene boxes that out take uses? Los Angeles is now Lost Angeles. Garcetti is proposing a universal basic income to many.

Urban cities will be the death of our Republic. Hey Nanci, what are you doing for your Frisco district with all the poop, used needles, bums, addicts, loss of business, no investment, etc.? Oh right, NOTHING! It's much more important for you to cry Racism at every turn of events.

I'd be more specific, but I don't want the CHP to visit.
