Supreme Court tosses out another Republican 2020 election challenge
CNN ^ | 04/19/2021 | Ariane de Vogue and Rachel Janfaza

Five months after the presidential election, the Supreme Court said on Monday that it won't take up a case from several Republicans challenging changes to election rules in the battleground state of Pennsylvania.

The unsigned ruling sends yet another message that the court's majority has no interest in relitigating the last election. Before Monday, the justices had already declined several requests to dive into one of the most litigious elections in history, denying petitions from then-President Donald Trump and other Republicans seeking to overturn election result in multiple states President Joe Biden won.

The Pennsylvania Legislature has to add specific penalties for violating state election law. What we've seen here is that the loser of an election cannot get legal relief. Therefore, the only way fraud can be discouraged is with specific penalties.

For example, if the law prohibits "fixing" improper ballots, there needs to be a penalty associated with it. We had precincts in Philly contacting voters and telling them to vote in person because they didn't use the right envelopes. That has to be accompanied by a one-year jail term or no one will think twice about breaking the law.

The Supreme Court wasn’t the Lone Ranger in this case. The Republican Party also put its Stamp of Approval and Brand on the theft. Now , they are pretending that no theft occurred. They carry on as if nothing happened. A coup was performed. Blood was shed. Hopefully the coward who murdered the girl will die a slow, painful death from a slow acting painful disease.

Well we all should walk the straight/narrow line but we don’t
at times. All I’m saying is they are nominated for the position
and then voted on by the on by the Senate in case of the SCOTUS.

The Constitution states that Justices “shall hold their Offices
during good Behaviour.” This means that the Justices hold office
as long as they choose and can only be removed from office by impeachment. The only Justice to be impeached was Associate
Justice Samuel Chase in 1805.

So basically you’ve got what is appointed/approved.

Only Alito and Thomas are good on the Supreme Court. I still think those members of the state legislatures need to be primaried out of office, because they allowed others to change the Election law. Especially Pennsylvania.

They did. But the courts found pre-election challenges ‘speculative’.

Post election challenges are ‘moot’.

It’s a fucking sham. The corruption is astoundingly pervasive.

It seems to me that at come point the U. S. Constitution
becomes meaningless.

If we let that thing become meaningless, we have nothing
between us and Leftist rage.

We have very little as it is.

I realize the process, and I agree with you in many ways,
but I do think these people have an obligation to uphold
their oath of office.

They didn’t here. It reads:

“I, ________, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will
support and defend the Constitution of the United States
against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear
true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this
obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose
of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge
the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So
help me God.”

By allowing this case to slip through, the SCOTUS allowed
a tenet of the Constitution to be ignored, or cast aside.

In other words, they did not defend or protect the
Constitution.

If they allow parts of the Constitution to be chipped away
as they see fit, we will have a Swiss Cheese Constitution,
and I would argue one that could easily nullify Amendments.

I know they made some changes to absentee voting and they made some changes about the drop boxes(almost as dumb and corrupt as mail in voting), but mail in voting is still allowed. And it’ll be used in the same manner as it was used in November and January.

I don’t think it is the same. Proof of identity is now required if mail in ballot is used.

“The 98-page measure that was signed into law Thursday by Republican Gov. Brian Kemp makes numerous changes to how elections will be administered, including a new photo ID requirement for voting absentee by mail.”

"True, but he is Chief Justice and will browbeat the others into submission.................."

No, that's not how it works. Being Chief Jutice is an administrative function. He has no power over how other justices decide.

He also can't browbeat anyone into submission. Every justice has a mind and will of their own and they do what they want. Paying attention to more than one case will demonstrate that.

Every time a case doesn't go the way some freepers want they start whining about Roberts. That's silly.

The article uses relitigate as if the issue was ever litigated, they also claim that Trump only wanted to overturn the election when in fact if the election was honest then they would have affirmed it. Supremes are as crooked as the Justice department and the FBI.
