So hard to read or hear of this. I’ve always held West Point in high esteem. Hope it can get back it’s reputation.

That’s the old code. The new code is A Cadet will be dark skinned, female or claims female status, not willing to study and destined to be a future pilot for American Airlines.

But, but, getting the right answer to calculus problems is so, so ... racist!!! Shouldn’t they have been promoted instead?

Service-Connected.

A close friend's son got the service appointment. Served in Iraq and was badly injured with a broken back after the vehicle he was in was hit. After recovering at Ft. Hood, he was assigned to West Point as an advisor where he subsequently died of a drug overdose.

I suspect he was a casualty of the growing opioid epidemic that had not yet been recognized. Likely got addicted to them while trying to combat the pain he was probably suffering.......

When your Commander-in-Chief is a liar and a cheater it’s not surprising to find underlings following Joe Biden’s example.

The most difficult exam I ever took in my life was my professional engineering license exam. And yet it had two features that would seemingly make it EASIER than your typical exam:

1. For each session (morning and afternoon) you were given a set of 12 problems — and YOU selected four of them to solve.

2. When I took this exam, it was a fully “open book” exam. You could bring as much printed material into the exam room that you could physically bring in with you and fit at your desk.

None of that mattered. It was still a miserable experience. LOL. So apparently the only way to cheat on this exam was to have someone else show up and take it for you.

fully “open book” exam

Yup. In my experience, open book exams were the hardest. You have to actually think vs. just memorize.

The way to pass Amy math class is to work all the problems. Spend time in the prof’s office

Exactly. In the case of a P.E. exam, the “open book” was really intended to serve as a reference guide for formulas and equation factors used in the various subject matters ... concrete design, roadway design, soil mechanics, hydraulics, etc. If you needed those books to actually understand the underlying theory behind the analytical processes at that point, then you were hopelessly lost and would never finish the exam.

Artillery officers must be proficient in math.

Math was always an odd subject for me. After middle school I struggled in almost every math class — with the exception of high school geometry. And yet I had five years of math in high school (two courses in one year), four semesters of math in college, and have undergraduate and graduate degrees in a STEM field. I passed every licensing exam (three in total) on the first attempt, too — which is unusual in my field. Go figure.

The upper echelon of the military has never been worse. God help us if and when we get into an all out war. Political correctness has comsumef the military thanks to the Bush’s, the Clintons and Obam. West Point is no surprise.

So much for the Honor Code. “A cadet will not lie, cheat, or steal, or tolerate those who do.”

All 73 should have been expelled.

Is West Point an Army facility?

Don't these cadets take an OATH?

They don't need to be expelled, they should have resigned. Period.

Honor?

What the hell does that mean to these self centered putzes?

Acceptable.

73 cheaters, especially since they were caught. The only thing I cannot abide worse than cheaters (who should be expelled), its cheaters that didn’t properly plan against being caught.

However, I don’t know all the details. Perhaps the many of them were just dupes (which means they shouldn’t be advancing).
