For quite a while, I have only been able to buy ammunition through the range where I am a member. The limit was one 50-round box, barely enough for a range session. But a couple of weeks ago that quota was raised to three boxes. Then, yesterday, I got an email from the range saying that this morning, members would be able to buy a 1,000-round case of 9 mm.

I just made over $1k on ammo I paid maybe $180 for.
I hope the shortage continues.
“Also hoping that some of the scalpers online will be stuck with inventory they’ll have to sell at a loss.”
That would be a real shame ... or not.
I was in my LGS last Thursday, and his shelves, which had been bare as Mother Hubbard’s cupboard, had a pretty goo selection.
The other day when I was at Walmart, their ammo shelves were empty. Everything was gone.
Shells for clay shooting are scarce as hen’s teeth.
The updated ship date is encouraging.
Waiting for some notice of price increase.
What ammo shortage?
Walmart stopped resupplying ammo about a year ago.
No, it ain’t over. One would think the supply chain might be catching up some on more ubiquitous calibers like 9mm and 5.56, but everything else is still MOSTLY sold out.
All the stuff on Gunbroker, et al is individuals selling high.
BTW overheard at my LGS: Total NICS checks run in the month of March, 4.7 million.
Frankly I don’t think it’s gonna change much until the 2022 midterms, and then only maybe, depending on how persistently incompetent the Rs continue to be.
Congrats! Proof that free market capitalism works. Those who whine about “scalpers” should take Econ 101 and learn from history about regular ammo shortages.
Ammunition is becoming a little more available, I have seen minuscule drops in price. I don’t know that I would call that evidence that the shortage is over. When I can get a box of 9 mm fmj rounds for less than $15 I will declare the shortage over.
I have some IMI 5.56 that apparently I could make a bloody fortune on right now. But I like right where they are now, in my gun safe.
They can run the presses for years and it will be swallowed by the masses. Buy VSTO stock. We haven’t had ammo in Kalifornia for over a year.
Said someone who clearly never trains.
“Shells for clay shooting are scarce as hen’s teeth.”
We can’t find #8 target loads anywhere at any price. Got a serious Jones to shoot some trap.

Buckshot is back on the shelves in quantity in my slice of ME.
Walmart has essentially ended most ammo sales.
Real self defense pistol ammo, the “big six” are still both rare and expensive. Ammo from mainstream manufacturers with nickle cases and hollow point.
.380, 9mm, .357, .38, .40 and .45.
And NO weight selection within the caliber.
Try finding Federal Hydra Shok in 125gr .357. Or 155gr .40.
Sometimes 9mm comes around on a pallet...gone the same day.
And all of it is 2X to 4X in price.
Why did you sell it?
