City officials have released videos and other material showing what happened the night police fatally shot 13-year-old Adam Toledo.
Another story here on FR had the kid turning towards the cop with a gun in his right hand starting to point it at him.
Circumstances don’t matter.
That city is gonna BURN.
Seeing conflicting reports. His hands look empty to me, and if so this cop will be done. Real hard to tell. Don’t see any drop for sure.
Trigger happy. I didn’t see evidence of a gun, the kid was raising his hands—when by fast. And lame for cop’s questions—are you hurt? where are you shot? Which went unanswered as he just killed the kid. Unsettling.
Hey! It’s Chicago! Poor LEO are a bit edgy the way it is! Blast the dam perps!
The Woke Folks will want the cop fired, but I do not see any problem with his decision in this video. That 0.25 seconds that he had to decide what the kid had in his hand that was out of view the moment before are entirely the kid's fault.
Fired? This cop’s going to get arrested and I’ll be surprised if takes more than 24 hours.
No movement or actions by the cop to move a gun out of the way if there was one. From the video, the kid was unarmed, was not doing anything to suggest he was taking aggressive action against the officer. He was cornered and raising his hands. Manslaughter unless someone has quote of officer saying he was going to kill the next person...
I’m usually all about giving LEOs the benefit of the doubt but this video was disturbing. The kid looks like he was raising his hands but I’m not sure if he still had a gun. Cops have to make split-second decisions though, something I would never want anyone to have to make.
When you watch the video at normal speed it looks like his hands are empty but look and freeze at 2:04 - 2:05 and you could see how it looks like there is a gun in his right hand.
I think he dropped it behind the fence when he had his back to the cop but then he turned around quick and that was it.
I don’t see how this can be spun as justified.
Some will say the cop should have waited and the more that premise is pushed the more cops are going to hesitate and in that split second they will be the fresh victim. Idiots want to play these games with professional LEO's they are going to pay the price.

Link to the video. This is a video of a person getting shot, and the immediate afterwards. It is graphic. Not for the squeamish.
The cops were chasing this kid down the street, and fired on the kid, hitting him.
What is stunning to me is how this cop could run, and still get off a clean shot. Also, the quality of the image and sound are amazing.
No amount of money could convince me to be a cop.
“Cops have to make split-second decisions though, something I would never want anyone to have to make.”
Same here- I’m not putting my life in the hands of any cop who thinks he’s in a life or death situation. I’m going to behave so calmly...
There are great protections for people in custody.
No amount of money could convince me to be a cop.
The video clearly shows that the kid was invoking a heinous voodoo hex on the cop(s) after ditching his Desert Eagle, a fully auto AK-47, and two (2) grenades...
Good shoot...
