Hundreds of Canadian Christians gathered on Sunday at the
GraceLife Church in Edmonton, Alberta. Government officials shut down the church for allegedly violating public COVID-19 health orders. Authorities erected a chain-link fence to prevent the house of worship from reopening last week. On Sunday, worshippers tore down the barricade, but were quickly met by a large contingent of riot police.
Alberta Health Services physically closed the GraceLife Church, preventing access to the building. AHS said the church would remain closed until the GraceLife Church "can demonstrate the ability to comply with Alberta's chief medical officer of health's restrictions." The Royal Canadian Mounted Police even closed off the access roads in front of the church to the public.

The Canadian Government should be hugely shammed for their actions in the name of Covid19. They do not have the public's support any longer. It is perfectly clear.
We have some examples of this Insanity here in the USA, but nothing on this scale that I am aware of.
God help them. Government hands OFF THE CHURCH
This is more demonstration of power than public health. Canada wants its citizens to know that the state is more powerful than God.
Ask Ramses how that worked out.
Time for Canadian Christians to dust off the playbook used for centuries when persecuted. Meet in secret places at secret times. Tyrants can physically prevent the use of a know building, but they cannot stop people from secretly meeting.
An excerpt from Bill Wylie-Kellermanns classic Seasons of Faith and Conscience (1991).
The sealing of the tomb is, I believe, notoriously misunderstood. I grew up with a Sunday School notion that to seal the tomb was a matter of hefting the big stone and cementing it tight. The seal, in my minds eye, was something like first-century caulkingputtying up the cracks to keep the stink in. Not so. This is a legal seal. Cords would be strung across the rock and anchored at each end with clay. To move the stone would break the seal and indicate tampering.
The event conspicuously echoes the story of Daniel sealed in the den of lions. And a stone was brought and laid upon the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet and with the signet of his lords, that nothing might be changed concerning Daniel (Daniel 6:18). As there, this is a legal lock on the tomb doornot air tight, but politically tight. To move the stone and break the seal is a civil crime. The resurrection is against the law.
The seal is also a recurring theme in the book of Revelation. Remember the scroll of history sealed with seven seals? Only One is worthy to break them and look upon or unveil the truth: that One is the Lamb who was slain. The seal is a claim of ownership and authority. Its meaning in Revelation is at least that God in Christ reigns sovereign over all history and in all events.
Caesar, in Pilate, on the other hand, violently disputes the claim. He has set his seal of approval on Jesus death, and now he guarantees it with troops. Secured by security forces. When the seal is broken in the resurrection, it stands among the signs that the power of the powers (death in all its forms) has been broken. The dominion of political authorityespecially inflated, aggressiveand imperial authority has been cut to the heart.
That’s pretty dramatic for Canadians...............
We have had mild doses in the US, but nothing at this level.
15% capacity restriction is ridiculous, punitive
as is physically shutting down a church
Canada is not a free country
the Charter of Rights is just like the USA Constitution/Bill of Rights is now, an historical relic of no current value or practical importance
pray for Canada (and USA)
I don’t think so. Fighting back is the answer. If 200 riot police show up, two thousand citizens need to respond. Erect barricades around politician’s homes. Fight fire with fire.
I know it’s easy for me to armchair from afar, and people will get hurt, but governments, particularly western ones, cannot withstand that kind of pushback. It takes great courage but Solzhenitsyn showed the way.
“What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?…”
Canada is what a socialist utopia looks like. No constitution, no bill of rights, no guns. Plenty of tyranny.
Lot of that going around here in the good ‘ole estados unidos too, buddy.
Health Departments pretty near have the same powers as your local Child Protective Services.
The videos indicate that the Christians did NOT tear down the wall but another group (perhaps Canada’s answer to AntiFa?) tore it down while the church folk shouted for them to leave the fence alone.
I DO NOT LIKE YOUR MENTAL HAZE
I DO NOT LIKE YOUR LEFTIST WAYS WHEN IT COMES TO PROTECTING THE U.S. CONSTITUTION

There are a few Canadians with really nice firearms. Trust me on this.
