Yes, it happened before in San Fransisco, in the incident they dramatized in the “Fruitvale Station” movie.
You are cheering for more overbearing, incompetent government.
Here’s hoping it gets you before it gets me.
Hey, but at least she helped to fill the quota.
Very doubtful. Will anything happen to them? No. Other than a promotion. Of the two, the lady is the more honorable and honest person. The guy who murdered Ashli is a coward and should go hang himself. He is not the hero the jack boot lickers made him out to be. I read their posts.
How could a 26 year police veteran confuse a firearm with a taser?

Remember that she cop in Dallas that shot an innocent man in his own apartment? She had boyfriend problems and was very tired And didn’t realize she was on the wrong floor. Nowhere near her own apartment.
I know what you’re saying, but the problem is that she could have done that to *anyone* in a traffic stop. What if she’d done that to some angry entitled Karen? Say, these scenarios, except instead of deploying a Taser she’d fired on the subject.

I mean, sure, Karens are annoying and we like to joke about them being removed from the gene pool, but do they really deserve death for what they did? Think about it - this officer could have made the same mistake in any of these confrontations and then she would have killed a Karen. Is it then a public service?
does resigning preserve pension?

Actually, pretty easily if she’s never had to use either in the heat of an encounter.

BS. Police departments all over the country spend billions of tax dollars on on-going training throughout their careers.
And yet, society is probably better off for her mistake.

Her mistake will likely cause millions of dollars in looting and rioting. People might even get shot and killed as a result of her mistake.
So can you really say her mistake will likely be a benefit for society?
Well yes you can. I agree with you. If BLM and antifa thugs want to burn and loot over her mistake, let them.
She is dead woman walking. She needs to be gone yesterday from the US.
“Helluva price to pay for being stylish!”
Yes, and former officer Guyger was (correctly, IMHO) found guilty of murder. The jury was given the choice of finding her guilty of manslaughter instead, but went for murder.
She was sentenced to ten years and will not be eligible for parole until she’s served at least five of them.
A redesign of tasers? No. Eliminate them.
I’ve always been of the mindset that tasers should not be a part of a police officers gear. I truly believe more lives would be saved and less crime would be committed if cops just simply pulled out their service revolver and shot punk thugs in the head for refusing to cooperate.
Not going to save her from prosecution. If she stayed on the force the wouldn’t the police union have to provide legal representation?
Look at the video.
The cop in question was incompetent. If she didn’t know her taser from a glock, I am not sure what else she would mess up It lead to a dead kid.
We have people on this board saying that should always treat cops like you will be killed by them if you don’t bow down. If a soldier did this in a war zone, they are brought up in charges. Maybe we need to think about how the police are trained.
What is the accountability in this case?

Also, how I handle an unexpected loss of traction in my car on a corner. Thank God for those hours of spinning donuts in the snow in my high school parking lot. :D
Not discounting her mistake, but dont put sugar on that shit cookie.
I’d vote ‘Harsh.’
It’s not the tasers. It’s the cops they’re hiring.
These people undergo on-going training throughout their entire careers. They charge the tax payers billions for this never ending training.
There is no excuse for shooting someone to death and saying you thought your weapon was a taser. That don’t get it.
