In general, that’s wrong. I was an inner-city high school teacher for decades. There were slackers among us, to be sure. But most of us had a calling for our subjects. We were driven to get the job done, despite the many ridiculous obstacles school administrators placed in front of us.
As for the protection aspect, I was ready should an intruder burst into my classroom. I won’t go into details. But I was ready. And I know of a teacher who taught in a basement classroom, far from any help. He kept a gun well-hidden in that room. I’d say he was ready too.
No it doesn’t. My son is bored as hell and it costs money to put them all in daycare. Plus a parent is working at home so someone else needs to watch them.

Sounds like an “alternative” high school for budding criminals. Maybe they thought calling it Magnet makes it sound like a gifted and talented program. Lolol.

In 1968 East High School (white) and Austin High School (black) integrated into Austin-East High school in East Knoxville. The neighborhood where A-E High School is located is about 85-90% black...

Local TV is now reporting an additional shooting about a mile away from the school. Details are slim at this point. Info still coming in.
