Biden Singles Out Amazon for Not Paying Federal Taxes

President Joe Biden on Wednesday singled out Amazon.com Inc for not paying federal taxes during his address in Pittsburgh, as he spoke about raising the burden of taxes on multinational companies and hiking the corporate tax rate.

...

Biden said Amazon was one of 91 Fortune 500 companies that "use various loopholes where they pay not a single solitary penny in federal income tax," in sharp contrast to middle class families paying over 20% tax rates.

"I don't want to punish them but that's just wrong," he said.

Why do they pass laws they don’t want people to comply with? And why pass laws that will not be enforced?

These people are insane.

Amazon, Facebook, Instagram, Google and Twitter can regain their usefulness (for a while) by more supplication and tribute, but in the end they will be equal in misery.

Leftie demagogery - tell the masses they are being shafted by banks, tech, whatever, while taking contributions from those same companies, and passing laws that help them.

Democrat kabuki theater.

I know one thing for sure, their delivery has really taken a nosedive. Things sit in “outgoing” long past their delivery date, things don’t even bet shipped at all, things are “getting lost in transit” etc. 4-5 years ago this was never a problem.

Walmart is now the pace to go for delivery, although you have to be very careful, some of the items have massive shipping fees. Wa trying to get an item the other day, it cost $16 and the shipping fee was something like $22. Good thing I checked before ordering.

If they don’t pay taxes here because they are domiciled in another country and somehow have no business here, then they cannot get any protections or government help, nor should they do work for our government, as they are NOT a US-based company/contractor.

Tax code has winners and losers. Always has and always will. As famed economist, Thomas Sowell said, in complex issues of public policy,

“There are no solutions, there are only tradeoffs!”

A transaction tax will eliminate 99% of tax scams.

Would it be asking too much to see BuckFiden’s plan to close forever these dangerous tax loopholes?

Can’t blame Amazon for just following tax law.

Since corporation customers pay the corporation’s taxes, guess what would happen if Amazon suddenly had to pay taxes without all those loopholes?

For 50 years Biden approved the Federal tax laws. He created this mess.

Amazon just needs to have a private conversation with Hunter. There must be an empty seat on their board of directors.

No idea. Honestly, I own a couple of shares. I don’t care what they do. They could hire a million people at minimum wage and chain them to a go cart. (Sarcasm.).
