North Carolina residents have come together to increase the reward money for information leading to the arrest of a man who shot a Lancaster woman in a road rage incident last week.
The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office said in the days since the shooting, one resident came forward anonymously offering $10,000 as a reward and more people have come forward to help raise that amount since, now at $20,000.
The man in question is accused of driving alongside the car of Lancaster couple Ryan and Julie Eberly were in on Interested 95 near Lumberton around 11:40 a.m. on March 25, and shooting into the passenger door.
The shooting occurred in the area of Exit 22, and the Eberly’s pulled over to get help. Julie Eberly, 47, died later at a local hospital.

The suspect vehicle, which police provided a new photo of on Tuesday, is a silver four-door Chevrolet Malibu with North Carolina license plates, the sheriff’s office said.
The vehicle has tinted windows and chrome trimming around the windows.
“We are going to aggressively track down the driver of this vehicle. Detectives have worked nonstop 24/7 to identify this coward,” Sheriff Burnis Wilkins said in a statement. “If you know who it is and who owns this car, come forward NOW. Do not become part of a conspiracy and call us NOW.”
Police are asking for both information on the vehicle and surveillance footage from the area.
Police said anyone with a business or home surveillance in the areas of North Elm Street, 16th Avenue, East 5th Street, Alamac Road and south of Lumberton are asked to review their footage to see if the vehicle in the photograph is there. They are also looking for footage during the time frame of 11:40 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on March 25.
Anyone with information relevant to the investigation is asked to call the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office at 910-671-3170 or email sheriff@robesoncoso.org.
