During an interview aired on Thursday’s “MSNBC Live,” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki reacted to concerns that corporations will raise prices if taxes on corporations are increased by stating that President Joe Biden believes people “know that corporations do not need to raise the cost of goods in order to pay more taxes and pay more of their fair share.”
Host Hallie Jackson asked, “Of course, he could only do so much if corporations end up raising prices on things if they end up having a tax hike as well, right?

Corporations do not pay taxes. Their customers do.

What happens when your expenses, to include the new/increased tax, are greater than your profit?
You raise your prices or close shop.
What happens when you’re selling globally and one government raises your tax but a different country doesn’t?
You compete globally, and it this situation you can’t raise prices because your out-of-your-country competitors don’t have your level of expense. Raising your prices can cause all your sales to go to those cheaper competitors.
Now what? Close shop? OR, move operations to another country and avoid the tax in your country.
Now the leaders of your country, in an effort to gain government revenue, winds up driving business out of their country, resulting in potentially massive job loses and loss of those employees income and tax revenue. They’ll require government assistance or starve and be homeless.
This is what democrats do. They might think they’re being fair by raising corporate taxes, but they’re really just screwing the little guy while making government take on the little guy’s life requirements.

Of course and I am always amazed at the number of people I speak with who cannot seem to understand taxes incurred by a business are always passed along to the customer.

I did not do a lot of economics in college but I think people really dont understand the objective of a corporation is to turn a profit not really run a charity business for the most part, they think about what is fair but not what is reality.
Liberal idiots (redundant) think that business just sit on piles of ready cash and can absorb minimum wage hikes and more taxes as their duty.
What do you call a corporation that does not include ALL costs in pricing their product/service?

And according to Biden, taxes on corporations are cool, but Trump using tariffs against China is evil.
Ask the “Socialist” Swedes. Their corporate income tax rate is 21%.
When taxes are raised corporations find ways to save money. One of the easiest ways to save money is to offshore jobs to lower paying jurisdictions. People like Psaki shouldn’t be allowed to hold senior government jobs without experience in the for-profit private sector.
Biden and Psaki think we’re stupid.
Everybody with half a brain knows that corporations don’t pay taxes - they collect them.
Then again, stupid might describe a large swathe of Americans. After all, Obama was elected twice, and Biden is now President.
