Jordan Fuchs Named as Source of False Trump Quotes in Washington Post
The original story, by Amy Gardner, ran on January 9. “President Trump urged Georgia’s lead elections investigator to ‘find the fraud’ in a lengthy December phone call, saying the official would be a ‘national hero,’ according to an individual familiar with the call who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the conversation,” the story said before the correction.

Personally I think a more accurate and descriptive word is one which rhymes with crunt. This is not a word I would post here.

LETS NOT FORGET
Hate-filled Speaker Pelosi launched her second impeachment of Trump using
the Wash/Po unsourced, multiply “corroborated,” allegation that Fuchs made up;
The Fuchs lie found its way from Georgia into Pelosi’s House “impeachment brief”,
and was even included in the House impeachment arguments.
Its crystal clear Nanzi colluded and conspired w/ Fuchs.....and others.
The entire Fuchs-generated press debacle was a vengeful jihad to “get Trump.”
All of it orchestrated by Nanzi.
Anybody on that call who did not cry fowl to the press about what was reported was derelict in their duty and should not hold a public office again.

Why was the recording found now?
I’m glad it was but am wondering why.
It’s not as if corrupt government officials can’t and don’t lie in response to a records request and say that the requested record never existed or blame a staff member for not preserving a record they they should have preserved (but was deleted by higher ups).
So why did they cough it up?
Merely because the investigator denies saying what Fuchs said she said? You would think they would successfully threaten her to back Fuchs up.
I’m hoping it is because this investigator uncovered some really damning sh*t against the SOS office in GA and that she turned this over in addition to the recording of the call and the finding it in her trash folder is a cover story.
Perhaps Fuchs is trying to cut a deal to get lessor charges for her role in the big steal.

Since the landmark 1964 defamation case, NY Times v. Sullivan, it has been, as a practical matter of law, virtually impossible to successful sue for defamation as a sitting politician/government official.
Trump and/or his campaign filed a number of defamation actions against a variety of defendants the last two or three years. None of them prevailed largely because of the precedent established in Sullivan.
The Constitution was written in an era when defaming someone publicly could conceivably result in a dual, just ask Alexander Hamilton. They clearly didn’t intend 1A to be used as carte blanche to public lie about public officials. But, thanks to the Court, here we are.
I would note the only successful action someone named Trump pursued was the claim Melania Trump filed....in the British Aisles. Their defamation laws are much stricter than ours.
