West Virginia’s Sen. Manchin has already stated that he wants to keep the filibuster. So Harris’s plan is dead in the water.
I kid, of course. Manchin will be given a combination of bribes, threats, and promises. He’ll fold, and support the Politburo like a good little boy.
Why is this or anything else the Dems do a surprise? Why is anyone still registered as a Republican? They are the party that allowed this to happen.

The Constitution, and some House and some Senate rules came from the same philosophical starting place - to work against the TYRANNY of a “majority”.
They understood that the survival of the Republic REQUIRED competing interests to HAVE TO compromise, and that on the most major issues not just compromise was needed but sometimes either super-majorities or outright consensus was necessary, or a measure could not go forward.
It was all necessary because of what history warned them about pure “democracy”, that it only works O.K. in the smallest of jurisdictions, with limited powers, and further from the people the power is moved, the larger the jurisdiction, pure one-man one-vote “majorities” WILL become a tyranny, and enforcement of power of 51 folks against 49 folks, all the time. That is a tyranny and it inevitably leads to that 51% installing themselves as a dictatorship over the rest, which at some point they will dispense with legislating and devolve everything to their hand picked executive - a dictatorship.
Today’s “progressives” are just Left-wing fascists, pure and simple.
