A woman in Tennessee was killed and a cop was rushed into surgery following a shootout in a parking lot, graphic video shows.
Footage of the Friday morning encounter between Metro Nashville Police Officer Josh Baker and Nika N. Holbert, 31, shows the 14-year veteran cop deploying his Taser on the woman while ordering her to get out of a car.

Watching the video, I wasnt actually evaluating the LEO’s physical condition, though it was apparent. I was evaluating his actions, particularly when the suspect pulled the gun out. In that moment, the suspect was restricted in mobility by her being seated in the car. The Officer could have sidestepped to his right, avoided being in a line of fire, and made use of the vehicle to restrict the suspect from firing upon him. (Try dry practicing from your own vehicle over a shoulder. It takes some effort, technique, and practice.) Instead he stepped back, remaining in the line of fire. Training, training, training...
you’re an apologist for bad behavior
They don’t make body armor THAT BIG!

LOL... Good one.......
The cop is not exactly an image of fitness either.
No.
How the taser got through all those homemade tats... and the long nails and the booty length weaves.
Is that cop trying to play Richard Jewell?
Maybe. I don’t expect him to just take her at her word that the drugs were for her therapy. I do think he erred in not making sure she could not reenter her vehicle. I take it that it is against procedure to allow someone without cuffs to be placed in the cop car. Which means restraints would be required if she was being arrested for those drugs. But did I miss it where he told her she was being detained?
If you can stand to watch the video again, you will see/hear the point where he mentions handcuffs and she FREAKS OUT.
Under the Lee rule the cop is at fault. If you don’t know what the lee rules is you could ask the cops in Oklahoma who are being prosecuted under it. Bottom line is it is the cops fault because his actions caused her to shoot him. Lucky for the cop only the 9th and 7th circuit are using the Lee rule as of now.
If I was King...
Hangings would happen EVERY day.
Yes is was...bullet hit him under the armor.
“So why were those needed?”
because he was arresting her for possession of illegal drugs ... handcuffs during any arrest are a standard operating procedure ...
I did see that. I was struck by how suddenly her demeanor changed. Which I suppose cops are trained to expect. Not sure if you can answer this. Does body weight diminish the effect of the taser?
How difficult would it be to come up with new procedures? How many people have to die for being arrested? Why has no one addressed this? The system we have now is NOT WORKING.

It’s probably a good thing for the cop that he is so obese that he was not able to correctly handle the situation. It’s probably a good thing for the cop that he got shot.
A truly competent officer still would’ve had to kill that fat thing and then he would of course be on trial for murder.
I have no idea.
Body weight contributes to asphyxiation deaths while in police custody.
It said the bullet entered under the edge of his vest.
Does body weight diminish the effect of the taser?

I suspect it does. She took a charge that would incapacitate a bull moose.
It barely fazed her.
I have to wonder if more lives would be saved if cops just put away the pepper srays and tazers and just simply shot the idiot after they ignore two commands.
