Attorneys representing Ashli Babbitt's family recently released a statement.
Babbitt was unarmed when she was shot and killed by a law enforcement officer at the Capitol on the day of the riots.
For some reason, the name of the office who shot her has not been released.
Babbitt attorney's statement appears below:
The shooting of Ashli Babbitt on January 6, 2021 by an unidentified U.S. Capitol Police Officer was an unjustified use of deadly force which violated her constitutional rights. It is clear from video footage that Ashli did not pose a danger to the officer, or any other person, when she was shot. Ashli was unarmed. She did not assault anyone. She did not threaten to harm anyone. There was no excuse for taking her life.

Law Enforcement, the Judicial System, and the Media have their reaction ready to go — “[shrug]”.
This is going to be interesting.
Glad to see it. My position from the outset.
Still unidentified shooter, how ridiculous is this
If Ashley were black they would have arrested him before the bullet left the chamber
It is totally bizarre, that every muscle flex of George Floyd was projected across this nation ... and all hell broke out, even at this LATE date, MUM is the word for this murder ... the ‘lawmakers’, meaning Congress are responsible for this woman’s murder ... the flipping Capitol Police are in video waving in people to enter the Capitol ... Nancy should be held accountable for this woman’s death.
She was making a concerted effort to breach a clearly secured area of the Capitol, with an unauthorized mob ready to follow her in.
May not have been a “good” shot, but was an unsurprising one.
Don’t bash in locked & blocked doors/windows without expecting return fire.
She stuck her head into a window which Antifa leftist John Sullivan had broken. She posed NO threat. She could not have even fit through that small window, and could have been shot had she tried. Sullivan was not only left alone and not arrested, but allowed to change his outfit and leave.
btt
No name black man in suit shoots blonde woman
In before the “Ashli Babbitt doesn’t exist” crowd.
The REAL reason the murderer's name has not been released.
Why? The doors all had glass windows. She could see what was inside without entering the clearly secured space.
She was murdered, plain and simple. So she trespassed? So it could be commercial burglary in some states. Neither is a violent felony and ANY cop anywhere else would be arrested for shooting them with no warning, with no reason for precluding every other level of force.
Verbal warning? no.
Physical hands on arrest? no.
Pepper spray? Baton? Taser? No, no, nope.
Straight to deadly force.
This is criminal murder.
The US Capitol also does not enjoy the deadly force protection of say a nuclear weapons storage location.
This is unjustified murder. They are protecting the killer because he is a black Brazilian immigrant and it helps their narrative.
A final question, if she was doing something that a cop could gun her down for, why were the fully equipped SWAT guys 3 or 4 feet behind her doing nothing whatsoever to stop her?
Bloody police state murder.

Defund the Capitol Police/sarc
Secured space? Define that. The capitol has no spaces where deadly force is authorized merely for breaking in with zero evidence of being armed. Arrest, yes. Deadly force with no warning? Nope.
The black Brazilian dude simple acted the way he would have been allowed to...IN BRAZIL.
Nothing in US law or case law makes this legal.
Ashley Babbitt exists just as sure as the black unknown shooter exists.
The bigger “why” is why did the policeman fire a pistol at the neck of an unarmed woman, threatening nobody directly, when she was in a position of serious physical disadvantage?
He could and should have simply physically arrested her as she tried to climb down from being half in and half out.
Murder.
