I get the idea somehow that the duration of the National Guard’s stay is not her decision to make, but she’s trying to make it appear that it is (good optics) and is trying to get out in front of it.

Gov Abbott has already pulled Texas NG back home. Wonder what would happen if various governors who still have troops in DC should pull their troops home as well? Would the Joint Chiefs of Staff send in active duty military to back fill? Would doing that be in conflict of the Posse Comitatus Act? Wondering 🤔.....
