NEW YORK (WABC) -- NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio has called for the State legislature to revoke Gov. Andrew Cuomo's emergency powers amid the recent allegations against him.
Amid increasing calls for an independent investigation into the allegations, the Cuomo administration has asked the attorney general and the court of appeals to select an independent lawyer to conduct a thorough review and issue a public report.
De Blasio released a statement Sunday morning after a second aide came forward with sexual harassment allegations against the governor on Saturday.
"New Yorkers have seen detailed, documented accounts of sexual harassment, multiple instances of intimidation, and the admitted withholding of information on the deaths of over 15,000 people. Questions of this magnitude cannot hang over the heads of New Yorkers as we fight off a pandemic and economic crisis. It's clear what must now take place. The State legislature must immediately revoke the Governor's emergency powers that overrule local control. In addition, two fully independent investigations must be held immediately into the deaths at nursing homes and the disturbing personal misconduct allegations. Precedence shows that investigations of the Governor must be completely independent of his office. The investigation into nursing home deaths must be free to examine campaign contributions from the nursing home industry. And the investigation into sexual misconduct must be led by someone fully independent of the governor, not the former business partner of the Governor's top advisor. 2021 must be a year of progress and recovery. These efforts for transparency must be met."

The jokes write themselves.
Ah, of course he’s a midget. I always suspected.
I thought Bill de Blasio and Andrew Cuomo were in bed together. I can’t tell the difference.
Yes, revoke powers over a harassment allegation — that’s where you have to draw the line. Sending thousands to their doom in nursing homes is fine, though.
Party unity and discipline only go so far when higher office ambition exists. DeBlasio is trying to climb up on Cuomo’s shoulders, pushing him underwater.
Deblowjob thinks he’s protected because he has a black lesbian wife his time is coming too Disturbing is the fact that the idiot AG in NY and deblowjob want this job
Stop calling for it and do it. All Talk no action
Exactly! What a sick sick political party the left truly are. There is no longer any question as to how sick morally they really are
Don’t think for a minute that the lefty Dems have suddenly developed a sense of morality and decency. Rather it seems to me like they’re trying to get him out simply so they can install some really hardcore leftist like AOC to the governorship and move the state even further left. They couldn’t care less about the various crimes he’s committed, outside of this opportunity that it affords them.
The bigger culprit (no pun intended) was DiBlasio. He exacerbated the problem in NYC by encouraging New Yorkers to go use public transit to celebrate Chinese New Year. This was a big mistake.
If they had been, maybe they would have drafted up some sort of document defining limitations upon the reach of government.
He thinks you're 10 feet tall because he thinks he's 9'7" tall.
Neither the Kaiser nor Letitia will be satisfied for long to “just” be Governor. They want to rule the US, and the World.
Some people in politics are neither satisfied with achieving wealth and influence, nor in doing good works (rare!), but instead keep striving for the brass ring of being #1.
Ooh, I can hardly wait!!!
This reminds me of two scorpions in a jar. Have at it guys!
Interestingly, how many short men I encountered in the Navy and civilian life who would do their duty and jobs. Those with such ethics are TALL in my opinion.
