Federal prosecutors have charged more than 300 people with taking part in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, the Department of Justice said Friday, and at least 280 of them have been arrested.
"The investigation into those responsible is moving at a speed and scale that's unprecedented, and rightly so. Those responsible must be held to account, and they will be," acting Deputy Attorney General John Carlin said.
On Thursday, acting U.S. Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman told Congress of her concern that members of some of the same groups involved in last month's riot -- who said they wanted to attack the Capitol and even kill members of Congress -- might try to target President Joe Biden's first message to a joint session.

They will drop the charges when they find almost all were Antifa, BLM or FBI.
I know Portland Police arrested them but most of them had their charges dropped by the DA. Not sure if Feds charged them. Even if they were planning on doing that, now that Biden is President, it’s real easy for his administration to drop them.
I remember some years ago when the Earth Liberation Front was going around setting ski resorts, car lots, townhomes, etc., on fire. The FBI was baffled and said they just couldn’t figure out who these people were since it “wasn’t really an organization”. Well, the ELF ran an extensive website that included a downloadable manual on how to make incendiary devices and where to plant them for maximum effect. I thought it was odd that the FBI couldn’t at least start by finding out who owned the website and go from there, but they never did. That is what they are doing with Antifa and Black Lies Matter, searching with their eyes closed tight.
They need to get some coordinated defense.
That is enough cases to keep an attorney or two busy.
As far as I know, they still have zero arrests for gun possession in the Capitol or on the Capitol grounds.
Also, in spite of five deaths, still no murder charges, still no conspiracy to commit murder charges, and still no accessory to murder charges.
Welcome to the Soviet Union.
They will be prosecuting imaginery thought crimes within a year.
