A little more than a year ago, 2,000 antifa tried to shut down my speech at UC Berkeley, according to police on the scene. The Berkeley police chief had ordered her officers to stand outside the building like mute ninjas, and make no arrests, unless they personally witnessed a felony being committed in front of them.
So barring a bank suddenly popping up on the sidewalk and an antifa attempting to rob it, I had no official protection from 2,000 violent, mentally disturbed thugs.
Thank God I had the Proud Boys.
There had been no warning of the antifa mobilization against me until an hour before the event, when they showed up, with a thousand of them at each entrance to the building where I was to speak.
Luckily, I’d invited about 20 Proud Boys from northern California chapters to attend my speech. If I hadn’t, I might not have made it to the campus at all. (If antifa had won, at least you would have heard about my visit to Berkeley, because the media would have reported on it triumphantly.)
The College Republicans had booked a private room for dinner in an Oakland restaurant for earlier that evening, so I invited the Proud Boys to meet me there 45 minutes before the students arrived. We all had to recognize one another, in case they were needed to help deal with any violence during my speech.

Say what you will about Ann Coulter, for years she has risked life and limb repeatedly, on college campuses. Ben Shapiro does it now too, but Ann has been doing it for possibly even decades.
Here’s the thing with the Proud Boys. They were founded by some guys who were ex-punk rockers, and so they are “rough around the edges” and not good little button-down young republican types. In the beginning, just because they were willing to fight the Antifa commies, they attracted some of the white nationalist skinhead types who had also been fighting Antifa on the streets for years.
Because they were decentralized and not really a top-down organization, those guys were able to sneak in and that gave the left enough of an excuse to label the Proud Boys as racists, white supremacists, etc. But that was never what the organization was about, and they kicked those boneheads out pretty quickly once they noticed what was happening.
But I have reached a point where, if the Left sees them as the root of conservative evil, I am more inclined to think they are are not what they are painted to be.

When I hear or read that an individual or group/organization is being attacked based upon vague generalities of wrongdoing, my very first question is to ask specifically what law has this person or group broken. If no answer SPECIFICALLY citing such a law violation is proffered, I immediately reject all further discussion of the matter.
PB”S are kind of goofy. I first noticed them when they fought back in NYC when attacked by Antifa scum. Got on video. Antifa attacked and PB’s didn’t just stand there. Beat the crappola out of them.

Regardless, NYC went after them with everything they had.
PB started out as a sort of ......pub club. You had to be sponsored and had to have been in a fight to get in.
MSM immediately classifed them as racist white supremacists. Which is comical as the head dude is hispanic. Then, they tried to torpedo them by claiming he worked for FBI. Umm, mebbe. But, why do I care? If he ratted out new members who were real bastids good for him. It’s not like Antif or BLM will do anything of the sort.

Any defensive patriot group of a “traditional manly” makeup can count on being infiltrated by FBI spies and provocateurs, and smeared in the media. Don’t form opinions about such groups as this unless you have personal knowledge. The Proud Boys I’ve interacted with remind me of the kind of men I served with protecting the USA in ‘Nam.
The Republican Party should be praising the Proud Boys left and right. The fact that they are not shows you that most of them are really just Dem-lite.

Maybe the losers who don't like the FBI infiltrated Proud Boys? Maybe the losers who don't like the Proud Boys leader Enrique Tario who was an FBI informer, later arrested? And then google Joseph Biggs if you like. Another PB leader also arrested.
Then there is always the weird and pervy initiation rituals that were widely reported.
Sigh. I used to really like Ann Coulter, read all her books, even went to see her lecture in the Belly Of The Beast, Hildabeest’s old stomping grounds, Wellesley College.
She just went off the rails somewhere, in my eyes.

Exactly. I distill it down even further, and figure anyone who goes toe-to-toe with Antifa A-holes does, in my book, deserve the benefit of the doubt.
Careful what you read. Proud Boys I have met are ex-servicemen like myself who are tired of getting pushed around by commies. Yeah, they’ve been infiltrated. Who hasn’t?
And Coulter is pretty shrill but I have nothing against proud boys people free republic think the next war here will be waged by choir boys

True, but I believe two of them may have broken a NY State law that they were not aware of. Video intended to show Antifa violence caught them on tape and they were prosecuted.

I had no idea all of this was going on with the Coulter appearances. Good work, Proud Boys. And thank you, Ann!
It was unsettling for me, because her account of him was so diametrically opposed to what I had read in history books, been told by news organizations, had been taught by teachers, and what I had seen from the entertainment industry.
Completely different, and I thought "Well, someone is wrong here. Why would Ann Coulter, who would be open to criticism for taking a flawed stance on so obviously an evil man, write those kinds of laudatory things about the Senator.
So I found copies of the transcripts from the Army-McCarthy Hearings of June 1954, and read the official transcript of the hearing. (One session was famous for the Leftist lawyer Joseph Welch who attacked McCarthy with the famous "Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?")
To my surprise, Ann Coulter's account was spot on, and the people who slandered him...were deceiving and lying.
This set me off on a journey that has led me to dozens of books and investigation on this subject, and I understood fully what the Left did to Joseph McCarthy.
And it is the same thing they are trying to do to each and every one of us who disagrees with them.
They want to erase us. They want to make us "un-persons". Not fit for polite society.
They want to discredit, diminish, and consign to the memory hole every single thing any of us has done, and in death, they want to salt the earth so that in the memory of us, nothing will grow, nothing will be remembered.
THAT is what the Left wants. Utter erasure.
Ann Coulter has written some whack stuff of late, but this is a good one showing Ann at her snarky best. When other writers try to write in her style, they come off as imitators at best.
The last time I checked, there was a black out on info about the PBs, other than left wing sources condemning them without citing any of their sources. I couldn’t find any info that came directly from PBs individuals or groups.

And this is deliberate on the part of the Left. They know that good people are obviously wary of aligning themselves with people who are outright bad, or that they don't know anything about, so they take both approaches.
They paint them as evil, violent, racist, white supremacist thugs.
They deny through collaboration and collusion of political, media, Big Tech, entertainment, and educational entities, any access whatsoever to information that is contrary to their narrative.
This is exactly what Google has openly stated that they wish to do in their video "The Selfish Ledger" in which they discuss using Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning in conjunction with surveillance, economic, and any number of other "inputs" for data (as many as they can get) to shape the values of people to match those of Google.
Yes. They actually said "To match Google's values".
