Pope Francis Removes Conservative African Cardinal From Vatican Post
The Wall Street Journal ^ | Updated Feb. 20, 2021 8:29 am ET | Francis X. Rocca

ROME— Pope Francis accepted the resignation of Cardinal Robert Sarah as head of the Vatican’s office for liturgy, removing an outspoken conservative and possible future pope from the ranks of Vatican leadership.

The Holy See Press Office announced Saturday that Cardinal Sarah had stepped down. No successor has been named.

The cardinal submitted his resignation as required by church law when he turned 75 on June 15 of last year. But the pope frequently lets cardinals serve two or three years past that age, though not past 80. Last June, the cardinal wrote on Twitter: “For my part, I am happy to continue my work” at the Vatican.

In accepting Cardinal Sarah’s resignation, the pope has removed a subordinate out of step with his approach to liturgy, homosexuality and relations with the Muslim world. The cardinal is a hero to many conservative Catholics, some of whom see him as a future pontiff. He will still be able to vote in a conclave to elect a pope until he turns 80.

Didn’t a Catholic “Q” say it was guaranteed Pope Francis was stepping down by this past January?

The headline isn’t true.

The article goes on to say

The cardinal submitted his resignation as required by church law when he turned 75 on June 15 of last year.

So the Pope dismisses a black guy for no good reason. Looks to me like Frankie is a racist. I demand his immediate resignation.

(Just giving back a little of what the liberals shove at us.)

Why are true Catholics not starting their own church? This baffles me why they tolerate all this garbage?

Catholics should not and need not start a new church. The Church has authentic teachings,
apostolic succession and valid Sacraments. It has, and will, survive bad popes.

Catholics are Catholics and not Protestants because we believe that Jesus founded his church as a visible entity existing throughout history, and we don’t get to start a new one on our own authority. God is still in charge.

Catholics need to remain focused on established Doctrine and not the current politics and the undermining of Truth.

“Why are true Catholics not starting their own church?”

Because there is no salvation outside the one true Church. Peter doesn’t hand out the Keys to the Kingdom to just any ol’ church.

“This baffles me why they tolerate all this garbage?”

Because a bad Pope happens now and then. In the grand scheme of things he’s a tiny blip. There have been some terrible Popes that make this one look like a little punk. This too shall pass.

I have read his autobiography and a couple of his other written works. He is a true man of God.

Cronos :" The article goes on to say .."
"The cardinal submitted his resignation as required by church law when he turned 75 on June 15 of last year."

Yes, with all due respect, I agree that it is a Church administrative procedure.
However, in the past, others have continued in their post for a number of years,.. so there is precedent,
until a suitable replacement has been found.
"Cardinal Robert Sarah as head of the Vatican’s office for liturgy, " is not an insignificant office in the Vatican.

A TRUE CHURCH can’be led by a DEVIL, and a host of DEVILS at all levels. It’s like saying an HONEST company that is run by con men. Words do mean something.

So all non-Catholics are going to hell?

You can’t seriously believe that.
