Hot dog! We get to freeze in the dark while we starve. Let them deny that this was their intention all along. They will continue to lie about “Global Climate Change and Warming” or whatever they are saying now. Government energy policy = death, decay, decline.

Every time I post something with numbers in it, some Math Professor comes along and wants to argue with me.

If it was 40-45 degrees the snow would be rain.

I had some science classes. I know quite a bit about participation.

Don’t sell your oil stocks

Also, I’m not an energy expert, but it seems the proper place for solar power is “downstream” as possible - ie) on individual homes or buildings. NOT “upstream” in large utility-scale aggregations.

Individual users with solar can manage inconsistencies according to their own circumstances. With utility-scale solar, an common problem, like heavy-snow, geometrically multiplies the consequences.

Its anti-fragile vs. fragile.

To cover their inconsistencies, just like California, Germany also has to import a lot of electricity from neighboring countries.

When That NORD pipeline that will bring Russian natural gas to Europe gets finished, Germany can add to its electric grid more gas fired generation plants. Natural is low in sulfur and just water vapor and a moderate amount of CO2 comes out as it’s burned.

Thanks for posting!

Rep. Ro Khanna
@RepRoKhanna

As Chairman of the
@OversightDems
’ Environment Subcommittee, I’m launching an investigation into how this mess unfolded. We need to know why so many fossil fuel sources failed, why ERCOT wasn’t better prepared, & who participated in the conspiracy to falsely blame renewables.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
@AOC

We’ve now raised $2 MILLION in relief for Texans & are adding more orgs.Folded hands

I’ll be flying to Texas today Airplane to visit with Houston rep Sylvia Garcia (

Let’s see how far we can go:

Natural disasters reveal how brutal & inhumane our system of inequality is.

No one should be left to fend for themselves in a natural disaster. This is why we insist on justice in climate policy. In a modern society, equity is as important as technology.

We must modernize.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
@AOC

The infrastructure failures in Texas are quite literally what happens when you *don’t* pursue a Green New Deal.

Jamaal Bowman
@JamaalBowmanNY

The crisis in Texas right now is not an accident.

This is the result of energy policy that puts corporate profits over human life — and we’re going to end that reckless greed with a Green New Deal and transformative energy policy.

This is a good time to note that the electrical grid in Texas was deregulated, privatized, and removed from interconnected networks to avoid federal regulation and increase profits to a small number of wealthy individuals.

... THEY NEVER LET A GOOD CRISIS GO TO WASTE.

In that latitude they won’t produce power vertically.

Not public knowledge, but I am aware of a wind farm that almost 20% of the turbines have cracked hubs. This is a design failure. The kicker is the German business they were purchased from, went out of business when government subsidies ran out. It will cost as much as the entire wind farm originally did, to just fix the hubs.
Aint green power grand?

What does latitude have to do with it.

They’re on the ground, not in the air.

So there’s horizontal power and vertical power.

They must use vertical power on elevators and horizontal power on electric trains.

Solar panels are placed in an angle that maximizes solar gain at a given time of the year based on the angle of the sun over the horizon. Deviating from the optimal angle by more than a certain percentage means the panels for all intents and purpose are nothing more than expensive bricks.
