It’s possible that Trump supporters fell into a trap on January 6

“If Trump supporters didn’t show up, they would have brought in their people dressed as MAGA people. It was happening no matter what.”
Good point. The people who engaged in most of the violence were bussed-in. Yet no one seems know just who paid for the busses.

Pretty smart on Nancy’s part.

I wish they would stop calling it an armed Insurrection. If it were and everyone of those Trump supporters were armed ,they would all be dead.

A month ago I sent an email to Sen. Blackburn about her vote. Yesterday I got a weasel-worded response that actually made me angrier than when she voted. She and Hagerty MUST be primaried next time they’re up for re-election. I have made it a point to NEVER vote for a woman for public office (Isaiah 3:12), but I DID vote for Blackburn because she had driven several hundred miles in a blinding rainstorm to meet with a small group of conservatives in East Tennessee a number of years ago.
I got 'burned'. (Pun intended.) Never again. East TN is NOT as 'conservative' as you would think. (See 'kneeling ETSU basketball team' for an example.)

It’s certainly not triumphant among us, the normal everyday citizens, but it has definitely taken over the federal government in all its branches. But they know that we know that they know that they don’t have the consent of governed and therefore it’s time for razor wire, patrols and observation posts. DC transformed into East Berlin.

Mr.Kitty..lol ...does he know you call him that? =o) He does. Not sure how much he likes being called that, but we've got a good thing going as far as putting up with each other. We celebrated our 28th anniversary on January 29th so I guess our relationship will last. ;-)

As much as I appreciate what President Trump did while in office, he miscalculated greatly on January 6th. For someone who was touted as playing "3-dimensional chess," he got caught in a big set-up. Where were HIS insiders, HIS troops on the ground that could've warned him? Surely, staffers from Republicans must've known something, and passed the information onto the White House?
Perhaps word did make it back, but it was too late in the game to call off the supporters. I think Trump was looking for Republican leadership in Congress to make a case for him, but they never had the stomach to do so. They would've risked their political necks by challenging the election, even if they suspected vote fraud.

The trap, was thinking they could do anything effective at all about a stolen election without killing the ones who had stole it.
