Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) responded to allegations that he flew to Cancun, Mexico, in the midst of record cold temperatures and snowfall in Texas—which has been besieged by power outages over the past several days.
Cruz appeared to confirm that he went to Cancun, saying that “with school canceled for the week, our girls asked to take a trip with friends. Wanting to be a good dad, I flew down with them last night and am flying back this afternoon.”
“My staff and I are in constant communication with state and local leaders to get to the bottom of what happened in Texas,” he said in a statement on Thursday, referring to the power outages and, in some cases, loss of water.
“Maybe endure the same privations that his constituents are suffering through? “
It’s not obvious that the Grid doesn’t have 100% reliability/availability?
What should a person at all inclined to [American exceptionalism,] self-sufficiency do to be prepared?

It would be almost funny if it wasn’t so tragic. The left has the ability to cause calamities, and then the ability to blame the right for the results of their malfeasance.

I’m in Texas and a native Texan. The mess is over in 4 days. Texans handle things just fine, and Ted knows it. We don’t need constant protectin’ like most blue states. Heck, I should have thought about flying to Cancun. Chill, freepers, and back off.
